I Always said if you end up on a team like the hawks with a owner and FO thats OK with just

Making money off of players and either to inept or just don't want to compete

You end up like Wilkins

This would have been lebron if he never left the cavs

The Celtics was still strong
Pistons
Bulls was getting better got jordan some help
Knicks was OK
Cavs was OK at the time

And that was just the east

Iverson is up there
Before this super team era. Dudes used to be solo stars on these shytty teams just withering away.

I hated that era

Solo stars burning away like candles getting injuries herr and there

And then finally end up like

Mitch Richmond

But the better built teams win with 2 stars and better role players

Damn shame

It can’t be Hakeem. He can’t be over Ewing he had Clyde for one of his rings and he played with Ralph Sampson earlier in his career. He also played on a “superteam” with Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen.

Also, Hakeem in ‘94 may not have had a high volume secondary scorer. But what he did have was the best spacing/shooting of any team and the most clutch collection of role players in history.

Sam Cassell, Robert Horry, Mario Elie, Kenny Smith all had critical games or gamewinners. They was called Clutch City for a reason.

Imagine if the Lakers had drafted Dominique instead of James Worthy. Imagine what “Showtime” would’ve looked like then!

‘Nique, Magic, and Kareem??? :ohhh:

Fam, nobody on Earth was gonna draft Dominique over Worthy.
Besides, history has shown them to be essentially the same guy.

Mookie Blaylock and the Plastic Man come to mind, but I can't think of any other HOFer that had less.

He didn't defend for shyt though.

They did pull in Dikembe who was All-NBA both years he played with Iverson.

In A.I.'s last years in Philly they finally brought in a squad (signed Keith van Horn and Webber and drafted Iggy and Korver), but he didn't stay around long enough to see if it would work.

Then those Denver years he had prime Carmelo, Nene, Kenyon Martin, Camby, J.R. Smith, etc. I actually think coaching was that team's biggest problem. You'd watch them play and it was one of the greatest assortments of talent I'd ever seen, but they STAYED taking the most difficult fukking shots. With that much talent on the floor they could have worked together and gotten easy ass shots off of AI breaking down defenses, Carmelo drawing double teams, JR stretching the floor....but instead they just launched one off-balance 20-footer after another. George Karl is one of the most overrated coaches in history.

Thats my go to team on 2k

:damn:

Pace and space and let them of

:salute: Mid range :lupe:

Kenyon and camby on the boards :smugdraper:

JR more as a slasher :ahh:

Basic Andre Miller backup

Yeah that team should have done more :wtf:

I'm confused. Whose generation are we talking about? I dont see how mike can be in mookie's or nique's generation but alvin and dumars can't.

Mookie was younger than them dudes, he was the same age as GP.
Mike was included because it didn’t matter how old he was.

Perhaps “class” was a better word to use there than “generation”.

The truth is that Dominique is kind of overrated. He was an athletic volume scorer that didn’t defend well or create for others.

It’s a reason he was left off the NBA’s top 50 team, wasn’t an original Dream Team selection, and ranked only 40th on SLAM’s 1997 Top 50 list.

‘Nique is in the Carmelo Anthony range of players.
Nique had achilles injury in 92, it was physically impossible for him to play. They did get him on that 94 team at least.

He did play with older Moses for a short time. Wasn't a dominant force anymore but still good for Atlanta in '89.

Nique didn't have household names around him on those mid 80s Hawks teams but they weren't a roster of bums either. Those teams were good defensively and didn't need him to run the offense as a playmaker. Some guys don't have that luxury.

Mike, alvin and dumars were basically from the same class, era, or whatever you want to call it.

Mike - born in '63, drafted '84, played on US team with Alvin in '84, retired '98
Alvin - born in '62, drafted '84, played on US team with Mike in '84, retired '96
Dumars - born in '63, drafted '85, retired '99

These are just facts. GP (drafted '91) and mookie (drafted '90) are closer to being in the same class than those 3.

He wasn’t picked in the original 10 before the injury.
