Did any other moment in gaming astonish you than realizing the size of the San Andreas map?

It wasn't the most amazing thing but it's up there. I wish they would do a remaster of the game. As big as the game is, it still felt like they could have done more if the game was released on a newer console.

not necessarily the most amazing thing, but as fighting game enthusiast,
seeing a fatality for the first time in the first mortal kombat:ohhh:

it was at the arcades, some other older dude was playing and he did the scorpion fatality,
the one where he takes off his mask and spits flames on his opponent
i was like:dwillhuh: what magic did you just do,stranger?that does not happen when i play the game.

For me it wasn't really the size, it was just the variation of environments.

From the gritty hoods of LS, the countryside that at times felt like you was in the middle of nowhere, running around the steep streets of San Fierro, the desert with that huge dam and your air strip to finally being in LV with the casino's and nice suburban streets. It all just flowed together perfectly.

IMO Los Santos in GTA SA is one of the most impressive cities in the entire series. The level of detail in places like Ganton, Idlewood, East LS and those Mexican hoods was insane. Especially for the time it came out.

Compare the game worlds of GTA SA to GTA V and the only category where V would come out on top is graphics. Thats literally it.

First time I realized how fukking massive Skyrim's world was.

First time I got to see Hyrule Field in Ocarina of Time.

First time booting up Super Mario 64.

When I realized how incredible Mass Effect 1 was, once it opened up and let me do whatever the fukk I wanted.

First 8v8 on Coagulation in Halo 2. Hopping in that Warthog, playing CTF

Beating Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

:wow::wow::wow: All those moments plus GTA: SA just blew my wigpiece

Zelda OOT when the fairy woke link up and he exited the hut,and I saw the village for the first time. Game came out when I was in 8th grade. Had been anticipating it since I saw the first screenshots in 96/97. That moment trump's just about all gaming moments for me.

I'm :flabbynsick: so it goes back a little further for me....the first time seeing Donkey Kong Country on the SNES was mind-blowing to me, from a strictly visual perspective.

Seeing a 3d rendered sprite moving so fluidly against a 2D background was jaw dropping.
