If yall thought Beans was this dope, why did yall let every album of his flop other than The Truth? :patrice:

Beans is no sort of musician though. Just a thoroughbred rapper through and through.

Roc-a-fella did him dirty by not giving better producers and a bigger push. He talks about how Jay took off him.

Then of course he made the wrong decision by going with Dame Dash when the split happened. He caught a case and the push for the LP with that song. 'feel it in the air' DDMG records was no good for him and then everything is unfortunate after that.

He has classic verses, classic records and legendary disses. I supported, I remember even having his unreleased demo mixtape lol.

Yes i do know of this and Im actually a Queensbridge Hip Hop afficionado.

Yeah I know you know about Trag and the other dopest bar spitters.

So yep QB will definitely be included. They are my favorite region of hiphop too, I just like how they make you escape via their bars and beats and it's not in a selfish way like shallow Brooklyn. With QB it seems its more about the crew and hope and "I shine, You shine" mentality.

The reason sold 585k but it's not certified bc the label didn't pay for the certification

Stillmatic is 2x platinum but is only recognized as platinum bc Columbia didn't pay for the 2x cert

Oh you're right and he was still on roc-a-fella with this release. The split was after 2005 I think?

Because Beans released another album on a record label called 'Dame Dash Music Group' named after the 'Russell Simmons Music Group'.

But he caught a case and the push was limited, I remember Dame shooting a mini documentary to go with the trial and his music. After all that though it seemed like tragedy was following him. I think if he went under Jay at DefJam he would be in a better space now but not for a fact because Freeway didnt quite blow up on DefJam.

EDIT :

Beanie Sigel released his third studio album, "The B. Coming," through Dame Dash Music Group and Def Jam Recordings in 2005. This album was a significant release for Sigel, marking his third solo album

I was thinking about this joint then, I believe.

The producers featured on The Truth and The Reason damn near mirrored the ones Jay had on The Dynasty: Roc La Familia through to The Black Album. No one received a bigger on that label than Beans.

Cam'ron's '02 signing really highlighted this because he was able to not only go platinum without a million Jay features, but he also dropped two top 5 Billboard 100 smash hits ('Oh Boy' and 'Hey Ma').

No excuse for Beans, even guys like Black Rob were going platinum during that era - the public just weren't feeling Beans like that. Had nothing to do with being held back.
