Was just listening to my Biggie playlist and realized damn never every single song he ever did was over a sampled beat. I really cant think of any tracks he was on solo or featured that wasnt over a beat with a sample

What an odd thing to nitpick:dwillhuh:
85% of beats that anyone rapped over in the 90s used samples

Alot of that Bad Boy stuff had extremely obvious samples and literally zero chops. Look at the shyt like Feel So Good and Get Ready by Mase. They didnt even try with those songs and of course Mase had no choice but to use the tracks because that's just what the formula was with Puff and the crew.

BIG deserved alot more and it would've been nice to see him link with some west coast producers because I could EASILY see him floating on some Quik and Battlecat tracks

So his two albums were full off obvious samples:comeon:

You sound like an old white man who doesn’t know or understand how hard it is to flip a couple of samples into a new song in a different genre.
And of the 27 songs on AEOM 23 has samples. Similar story of many of Quiks albums.
