U saw the car commercial with the ladies and that target commercial with it leading up to the movie

But that shyt has been silence

I thought the marketing wasn't that great

You right about 2.5x the production budget being the standard for breaking even. It had a $50M production budget. So, according to that standard, it woulda needed $125 to break even. It made $67.1M domestically and $27M Internationally for a total of $94.2M. That gross is 1.88x the production budget.

But it had a good, long run, as it's still in theaters, on it's 109th day. It's $44.3M in revenue for the distributor, Sony, (50% x domestic & 40% x international) is 88.6% of the production budget. So, it looks like it's not profitable theatrically but it'll get there with on-demand, streaming and cable, etc. Not bad for an original movie, which is lacking at the box office. If it were made for $35M like Don't Worry Darling, then it woulda grossed 2.69x it's hypothetical production budget and been in the clear.
