Did Clarence Thomas just open up the door for lineage based redress or are these people delusional?

Everything is going to plan. I’m sure our good brothers Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell will allow a lineage based affirmative action bill to pass.

lol... so who's gonna setup the system necessary to background check people's lineage?

:francis:
It's not difficult for Black Americans to trace their lineage.
Black immigrants were less than 1% of the American population when Affirmative Action was passed...
From what I've read, they make up the majority of black Ivy League students.

Why are people trying to put a positive spin on this? Lineage-conscious just like race-conscious would still be seen as a negative factor, because it could be argued that it hurts non-AAs based on what Thomas has said elsewhere.

But they know it'll cause division.. Thats why the present it this way. Sh*t is clever.

People who benefit from "black americans" being loosly defined is going to attack this. But if thats what c00n thomas is going for then im all for it. nikkas on here been said that the rightful benefciaries of AA have been ignored in favor of other groups. Dont switch now cause the opp is saying the same thing.:yeshrug:

Theres no institutional system in place for this purpose...

Any random person can make paperwork showing anything unless there's a standardized system

A standardized system set up by who? White people? You trust them to make a honest system about something that'll undermine their agenda?

It is not hard for African Americans to trace their lineage. DNA companies have been building a database for a while, in fact Ancestry DNA has a whole genetics community database indicating places where African Americans have roots in the USA. From what I have seen the database is pretty accurate, for my family at least, because it listed known locations that I knew that my family lived during and after slavery.

so in order to qualify for affirmative action we should have to submit our DNA to a private company?

Yall "I'm proud to be an American" ass nikkas want these yee haw conservatives to love you so bad it's pathetic.

Ain't no one, of any particular race or ethnic background getting shyt from this right wing Supreme Court. Period. There whole entire goal is to atomp out ANYTHING that speaks to equality or redress for minorities. Idiots stay stuck on these stupid fantasies of Republicans doing shyt for "black Americans" and then got the nerve to mock Democrat voters as uninformed and naive.

So where is her interpretation wrong for those who read it?

She's cherry picking sentences that mention freedmen and passing it off as a win when in actuality he's conveniently bringing it up to deconstruct the concept of race

When you read the rest of his occurrence he's very adamant about upholding the equal protection clause to prevent racial discrimination in all of its forms (in this case, reverse discrimination as he's called it in the past :mjpls: ).

And even if you do go along with this chicks generous interpretation of Thomas' concurrence she still needs to address the judicial opinions of the 5 other judges who struck it down

All in all, she's coping. People like her have been telling us that the Boogeyman doesn't exist for the last 8+ years and this is just thier way of dealing with a new reality.
