The Chronic = Classic
2001 = a classic and it's better than the previous classic which is kinda rare in music
Compton = kinda just came and went , Dre was going thru his Hot Topic phase and threw fukkING CHIODOS on the album and kind of think of it , had a bunch of Rock moments , kinda a weird album

Almost. He tried to be too next levelish on Compton. Way too much going on musically and rapwise.

The best song on the album (Talking to my Diary) is vintage, simplified yet polished Dre. Compton should have been 16 tracks of that instead a Black Hippy impersonation.

The album is above average for another artist but it didn't fit Dre at all.

I enjoy 2001 more. had crispier production, more expansive lyrics and flows but is still true to the Westcoast sound. 16 years and still doesn't sound dated.

OG Chronic is all G-Funk and "suck my dikk"/ "slap a bytch" bars. It's too much of time capsule piece and is only refreshing for the occasional listen. 2001 is more timeless.

2001 is nowhere near the OG in the that regard. Plenty of songs that weren't like that...The Watcher, What's the Difference, Still Dre, The Message, come to mind off top.

2001 is still relevant sound/production wise. it set a precedent that still stands to this day sonically.

chronic while dope for its time is dated g-funk. best gangster rap album of all time. but outside of that its dated.

compton will be the same as 2001. the sound is even ahead of its time for these cornballs to appreciate right now.
