Did Eminem really Kill Jay-Z on "Renegade" or was that overstated?

All I remember is that no one was saying that Eminem killed Jay on Renegade until Ether dropped.

Since then these Nas dikriders just went with the flow and now they act like that they felt the same way since day 1

Personally, I preferred Jay on that track but I can see why someone would be more inclined towards Eminem.

But this doesnt mean he murdered Jay on that track and vice versa.

Jay spit the typical hustler rhymes he's done forever. Jay was talking about himself as usual.

Jay's rhymes were ordinary, if it wasn't for Em I would have skipped this track.

It was already a finished song with Em and Royce da 5'9 before Jay got it. For Jay, all Em did was take Royce's verses off.

If y'all really think about it, imagine how much wacker jay's verse would be seen as if they left Royce's verse on. Jay just couldn't keep up.

Too much revisionism with this renegade stuff.

When it dropped, people were saying Em had a hot verse and better mic presence and flow (this is undeniable).

But absolutely nobody - literally 0% of people - were saying he killed Jay until Nas said so in Ether.

That said, this is one of Em's top 5 verses. If we were to put up one of Jay's top 5 verses against it, it would be an absolute slaughter. Non-lazy Prime Jay literally has 20+ verses better than what Em lay down on here.
