I'm so glad I didn't purchase. I kept reading the threads on here and felt like I was missing out, but I learned my lesson last time. I'm sure its a fun game but there's only so much you can do with GTA at this point.

you coulda bought it for $30 on black friday.

But I'd say I've def gotten my $60 out of it.

But for the ppl who felt like they had to beat it in 48 hours, it was disappointing to them.

Lots to do tho if you take ur time. The online part was a bit of a letdown tho

Miles of nothing to do, picture perfect views with nothing to do. Bots walking and driving around almost the same as a game that was being worked on in 2000.They put something related to C.J in achievements, the only reference, a kick in the teeth to those who grew up on san andreas. Hundreds of unique homes with unique pools that you cannot own, an unenterable casino 1 legal airport and an amusement park with 2 interactive things to do. To me san andreas and gta IV despite its flaws were legandary. This game was 5 years after its time. Miami on xbox 1 ps4 better be worth the wait

I liked the game, I thought that if they had enough time they could improve on the on-line portion of the game.

To me their biggest mistakes were...

1. Dropping at the end of the last gen life span. Most people have moved on to the new system (much like I have), it doesn't help that the new systems aren't backwards compatible either.

2. On-line should been available day1 with all it's features.

I literally stopped playing it because truth be told I was abhorred by the graphics. I rather wait and play it over on PC. The shimmering of jaggies, constant low fps and terrible

Besides that, the online was a monumental failure imo. They had the best sounding online MP blueprint on paper but the way it was executed was nothing short of terrible. It took entirely too long to get online and then setting up matches took an eternity. In this day and age slow loading MP games are forgivable if the actual game is hot but the MP was trash.

Gun handling, shooting mechanics and controls were terrible. Playing Max Payne 3 now and the difference is immense. MP3 felt ultra fluid and precise where as GTA V felt clunky as shyt. Aiming acceleration was too slow.

The 3 character thing was cool but I felt like they pretty much made Franklin out to be just a mere errand boy while the main game seemed to revolve around Michael. Trevor was a breath of fresh(or stank) air but he could only curse and make crude jokes for so long. My favorite character Lamar got hardly any time in the game.

The city was nice though. Soundtrack was pretty dope too.

I'm hoping some of my gripes are patched or modded when the PC version arrives.

Im still working on GTV5. Seriously this game could have been so much better had it not been for all the glitches and freezing I'm going thru. I literally freeze every 5 missions I'm barely at the part where Trevor is torturing some alleged terrorist. I dont even know how far I am into the game, but if its only 25%, that's disapponiting because that means its going to be even more excruciating to go through this game.

If they'd just fukking fix the fukking shyt with a patch, this could be one of the best games out this year for PS3. (note I said 3 not 4)
do you have the digital version? i remember people were tripping about those being glitchy, everyone elses seemed fine.

Nope. Disk. Even exchanged it for another, same shti. and I know it's not my ps3 cause all my other games work fine, even HUGE games like fallout. :to:

I had about as much fun with that game as I was disappointed with it. It's like Rockstar gets so much shyt right that's worthy of the hype, but at the same time miss so many obvious opportunities. I'm positive heists are the future of the GTA games, but here it's largely a wasted gameplay element with no decent pay-off (or should that be pay-out?) until the last mission. Seriously, what's the point of adding a leveling system to your crew members when you can use most of them on only two heists tops, and low level crew members will always die, just because it's programmed that way.

Same goes for the character switching, that shyt works amazing outside of missions, but when you're doing missions, the game decides for you at which times you can switch and which times you cannot and that is pure bullshyt. And when you can switch, if you don't do it at the time the game expects you to, it can mess up the NPC's AI, like they didn't bother to program any for that part because they expected you to play that character.

Also, GTA Online is the biggest joke I've ever seen. That shyt made EA's Sim City launch look good. How did Rockstar ever expect their multiplayer to work properly when the servers couldn't even handle a simple ass photo uploading feature in singleplayer mode? And calling multiplayer a glitchy mess would be an insult to glitchy messes. Saved characters and progress flat out getting deleted? How the fukk did anyone accept to deal with that shyt longer than a day? I put two hours at best into multiplayer and felt like I was at the end of my patience.

just like everything else these days, gets overhyped and talked about so much that no matter how good it is, it will never live up to the hype. Detox could be best album of all time any genre, not good enough, the next 3 Star Wars movies could make the OG trilogy look like Phantom Menace, not good enough, Rockstar could make San Andreas on steroids but people would find shyt to complain about.

personally i think GTAV was great, they brought in new ideas, the way they switch between characters was easy & well timed, driving was improved greatly which was my biggest gripe about GTA4. i don't know what it is that makes SA so playable but i bet they could remake that game exactly with todays graphics & all that & cats would still complain about shyt & say it was boring or whatever.

i can only speak for myself but part of the problem is i'm older, i don't have time for games like i used to. i'm 31, i have 2 kids, a full time job that i can't afford to fukk around at, house duties now that i'm shacked up with wifey. 10 years ago when SA dropped i didn't have all that shyt so i had time to just sit & play so of course i built more of an attachment to games like GTA, Halo 1, etc.
This nikka running around here making sense...

It's funny...when you read the 'complaints' people in this thread have about the game, there isn't a real consensus about what made the game 'disappointing'. Everybody is giving different reasons. It's because objectively, there isn't any generally agreed to flaws about the game. People are at war with their expectations...they had an idea in their heads about what the game should have been and feel slighted when it doesn't live up to subjective needs.

When San Andreas came out, the game had objective flaws. The graphics were worst than Vice City. The sounds of the guns were a joke. After you left Los Santos and went into the countryside, the story completely fell apart until you came back to Los Santos. Certain missions, like 'Supply Lines', 'Wrong Side Of The Tracks' and 'Flight School' were so difficult/borderline broken that people struggled to get through the game unless they got lucky. But those flaws are all forgotten now. Because we were younger, less nerdy and had less expectations coming in.

GTAV ain't perfect but in reality, once you cut out the nostalgia for past games in the series, it's as good as most other installments in the franchise. Certainly as good as IV or III and apart from the setting/soundtrack, far better than Vice City. The customization, game-play mechanics (apart from the helicopter controls) and most of parts of the game hold up when you judge it on it's own merit but this is likely falling on deaf ears...I know daydreaming about a younger, more carefree time in your life is appealing to you so carry on...

My thign is, all these dudes who were rushing to beat it then complaining about it, there's no way they did 75% of the stuff in the game. If your whole thing is being satisfied with the storyline, cool....but ur missing so much else in the game. Everything in the game is there for a purpose, but most ppl just ignore anything non-storyline related.

I could turn the game on right now, drive around for a few mins and find something I've never noticed......it took me months to find the car race track and then even later I found the dirt-bike race track. If you like car or dirt bike racing you have a game all to itself just with that....same with the golf and tennis, etc.

The only thing else they really should've added was using Spotify for ur radio stations. GTA Online tags ur songs on Spotify, so I dont see whythey just couldnt integrate it into the game. This would've made driving around much more fun b/c you'd never have to hear the same songs over and over.

One other thing is, they should've allowed you to buy more property, both in the city and in Blaine county. Just for a change of scenery from time to time. Or maybe house by the beach. I dont even care if they all have the same interior....it's the location variety.

Oh and if you have a good surround sound setup, this game is even more amazing. Driving those muscle cars, :wow: You can feel your sub shaking every time you hit the gas and shift gears. And when you're out in the woods, you hear all kind of stuff around you.
