:russ: Biggie not having influences to inspire his style.

Todays Mc's and hybreds thereof have been influenced by these rappers:
Rakim
LL
Kool G
Kane
Slick Rick
Krs
Chuck D
Scarface
Ice Cube
Kool Moe D

influences and templates are two different things

Big sounds like none of the rappers you mentioned either

LoL, LL created the template for just about every rapper that came out after him from the 80s till now

Yeah this is beyond nostalgia or giving superlative props, this is fact. LL was was the first solo hip hop superstar (other than maybe Kurtis Blow lol?). That made him the true blueprint for rappers...

He was literally showing people how to do this...

Templates and influences, you saying big doesnt sound like anybody..Im saying Heavy D....who Puff was directly connected with and was also the artist development behind BIG i.e if wanna make it large..gotta market you as a player, not hardcore rapper wearing hockey jerseys and rocking gold teeth. Comprehend?

Other than a rap video, whens the last time either was on t.v.?

LL IS on t.v. tho..

Whats your point?

this STILL has NOTHING to do with Biggie's FLOW or SOUND

the problem with RAP today is nikkas are caught up in everything but the RAP. if we talking RAP we talking RAP. not marketing schemes, hockey jerseys, gold teeth, fukk all that shyt.

and my point was, they don't show Heavy D on tv enough for you to say I only listen to what's played on tv

It has EVERYTHING to do with it.

Image on top has everything to do with rap, why u think style is a priority, especially in the hood?

My point is while big was selling crack back in the day, Heavy D was in full rotation, while Puff was a&r at MCA.

Ya boy Big even mentions Heav D int he 1st lines of his debut single.
