:patrice:

Think how many classic mixtapes dropped that were followed by :scust:albums

If shyt was like the 90's Classic Mixtapes like GFID,Rich Gang TP1 would have been albums.

A nikka like Fab who gets knocked for subpar albums would have three 4 mic albums with Soul Tapes.

It's just frustrating running into fans who not up on a classic project because it's not an Album

On the flip side a lot of excess garbage that gets released wouldn't see the light of day :yeshrug:

Also things are transitioning back to singles game, you can already see mixtapes kind of falling off

they were helpful for getting dudes on, but when you're on, no need to release free mixtapes, especially not 15-20 songs worth of content. on the other hand, these cats might just be shining better on their mixtapes since they can get away with sampling
it depends on the artist did mixtape hurt Future nah it helped keeping him hot but not every artist should drop mixtapes

Theres no difference between an album and mixtape to a majority of hiphop in 2015

you are a fool if you think differently
breh you'd be amazed to see how many people don't pay attention unless it's an album. Hell I once argued with another poster who wasn't counting mixtapes towards an artist catalog. Think it might been fab related

Why can't you have the hit songs on an album?
you can. But the label cut when it's an album will be much higher verses a mixtape.
