breh you'd be amazed to see how many people don't pay attention unless it's an album. Hell I once argued with another poster who wasn't counting mixtapes towards an artist catalog. Think it might been fab related

you can. But the label cut when it's an album will be much higher verses a mixtape.

If you have a 360 deal maybe

but if not it would be better than putting it on a mixtape

Theres no difference between an album and mixtape to a majority of hiphop in 2015

you are a fool if you think differently

There are platinum mixtape rappers who only go gold commercially or don't go gold at all....

It's cool for new artists but c'mon The Soul Tapes, Rich Forever, Dreamchasers 2&3
the last 2 Krit tapes are freaking albums....

they were helpful for getting dudes on, but when you're on, no need to release free mixtapes, especially not 15-20 songs worth of content. on the other hand, these cats might just be shining better on their mixtapes since they can get away with sampling
On the other hand future hendrrix legit had one of the best mixtape runs in years and he didnt use samples. Just flooded the fame with strong material and wisely left his best for the album on ds2 save for march madness monster and codeine crazy being on tapes rather the album

Artists dont see a lot of money from albums anyway.

With mixtapes, there's less pimping going on by the label.

And if that artist isnt on a 360 deal and tours well off mixtapes:whew:

thank goodness for mixtapes for real for real...they were always better than the retail album because there was no record label interference

The year 3030
Anybody who could download mp3's and make it into a "Tape" hurt mixtapes though.

Remember the flood of mixtape "djs" that relabeled the same fukking song or how many no name tapes had the same shyt as the big name tapes

Mix tapes are inherently weaker than albums because they don't have original beats the whole way through. In addition, you got trash tween-appealing rappers like Weezy, c00n$y and Dipshyts who flooded the market with basura upon basura.

On a side note, this is why Drake will never be a legend. His fans say his best material is "So Far Gone", and that shyt is a mix tape

Same goes for J Cole.

Go ahead and neg. All your favorites done caught it.
