@Axolotl posted a thread here not too long ago talking about Naruto becoming a self-made hypocrite, which got me thinking. I've seen several threads talking about Naruto becoming trash after Shippuden, but I'm sure other posters here are still fans though.

Did the series ever fall off for you?

The first part was fire to me, but I stopped messing with Shippuden awhile back.
There's still a few things I have to give Shippuden credit for though...

1. They still had some great fights. The animation got crazy on a lot of those scenes :wow:

2. Naruto curving Sakura and wifing Hinata at the end was a W. Hinata was ride-or-die from day one. I'll give Kishimoto props on that. :salute:

3. It gave black characters shine. When Killer Bee gave Sasuke and his squad the business :banderas:

It should've ended at Pain because story wise, it slowly fell down from there. There's also the fact that it went from being actual stealth and technique driven (Like normal Shinobi) in Part 1 to being damn near Dragon Ball Z status in Part II and the shift being a little jarring. But other than that, the fights were piff and the animation was good too.

Completely put all of the cool characters on the back burner and turned Naruto and Sasuke into literal gods. If they would have kept the powers in check and made use of the extensive catalog of characters they have we could have gotten some cool stories and fights out of this not just giant rasengans and lightening attacks.

Immediately after the save Garaa arc. After Naruto learned jack shyt from the time skip I gave up on him as a character. I knew he would get random powerups just to make up for that oversight and I was right.

The side characters like Sakura were getting shine during save Garaa but that soon stopped. It became a series of Naruto powerups to keep up with Sasuke.

Hated that the fights turned into a monster mash after a certain point. Hated that naruto didnt learn any cool jutsus, just variations of the rasengan and chakra control. Wanted him to be like minato.

Thought it was terrible when they forced Sasuke onto the same level as Naruto. It was clear up to a certain point naruto was supposed to be something like the incarnation of the sage of the six paths. Then they added the sons so sasuke could have his part.

Finally Kaguya was tragic

Fights got boring, they're a bit stale, they aren't creative. The same anime tropes every story arc. And the show overall just stopped having something new to offer. In the OG Naruto every other episode there was a new and unique idea being presented to us, that's no longer the case tho now

Why nobody ever talk about how Itachi went from parent/clan killer/brother torturer to loving brother.

Dude made Sasuke relive the death of his parents the most traumatic moment in his life... and he did it twice.

The English voice actor was having a ball with his evilness

Probably would've been the GOAT villain and his motivation to create heartbreak and pain for Sasuke so he could steal his eyes would've been a great motivation

Instead we get this
FoolishMarriedAldabratortoise-max-1mb.gif

So he allowed himself to be controlled by a weakling like Danzo and killed his entire clan, allowed the Akatsuke to nearly kill all the Jinchuriki and capture the bijuo, almost drove Sasuke to kill Naruto and destroy the village ANYWAY, and we are expected to believe he was a double agent the whole time.:stopitslime:

Trash, trash, trash.

Worse than allowing a baby killer genocidal maniac like Orochimaru to live. At least Orochimaru was beat down, tortured, sealed away and eventual turned into a harmless bytch in Boruto. He never really repented he just was nutured like Negan in the walking dead. He gets out of line he'll get smoked easy.

Itachi never even got a proper arc. He got the flu and died. Arguably the strongest character in the series pre six paths Naruto and they made him autistic. :gucci:

I'd argue that, Anime-wise, it peaked with the Chunin exam. Manga wise, it was still good up until the beginning of the fourth ninja war.

shyt became absolute trash after the Pain saga. Finding out Pain wasn’t the “main” dude along was some bullshyt. also his reasoning for bringing nikkas back just was weak as fukk. “I believe in you Naruto” shyt.

Then lemme not forget the garbage Tobi reveal nonsense.

They was pulling mad shyt out they ass.

Ultimately I watched the show cuz it was different from DBZ which you could suspend disbelief with the ninjutsu shyt. But then it became DBZ with all the over the top nonsense.
