A guy that averaged 35 when the nba played the slowest pace in history...while leading the equivalent of a 15 win team to 45 wins and the playoffs didn't deserve mvp?

Do you guys care about defense or no? Kobe was a better two way player, more dominant offensively & defensively.

Kobe wasn’t great defensively that season, Kobe put up great scoring numbers but wasn’t really leading to wins, and you’re underrating Nash’s offensive impact because he wasn’t a hellacious scorer but a game manager.

Nash was an absolutely offensive monster and he MADE that offense. If you watched him play, you knew he could easily be a dude that put up an easy 25-26 if he wasn’t so focused on passing but Kobe would tell you that Nash’s bag of scoring tricks was elite.

That same post-season had Nash completely destroying the Lakers dropping 22 PPG and 9.5 AST with Nash embarrassing whoever the Lakers put on him. He had almost as many assists, by himself, as the two best playmakers on the Lakers combined while playing far less minutes and being way more efficient.

Nash was, by far, the best player on a much Better team and he proved two years in a row by smashing the Lakers in the playoffs and getting shyt down a grand total of 0 times by Kobe. I feel like cats didn’t really watch Nash in the playoffs because dude was a bucket getter when he went into scoring mode

I would have given the MVP to Kobe but acting like Nash wasn’t a dominant offensive player because he didn’t shoot all the time is stupid. Nash was an elite playmaker, scorer, and game manager.

He deserved it in 05. Suns won 29 in 04 and were 21st in offense. They had a 21-40 record with Dantoni. Amare, Marion, Barbosa and Joe were all on that 04 team. Nash gets there but just some other role players. They win 62 and become the best offense in the league and one of the best of all-time.....Now unless u think Quentin Richardson deserves more credit than Nash it was obvious he changed the culture of that team conpletely. It's cliche to say when a player makes those around him better but Nash really done that. He elevated EVERYONE in his prime and was prolly the best at leading a top offense out of anyone and maxing talents of his teammates

MVP has always been a team results centered award until Westbrook won so I don't see a big problem with Nash winning 05. Shaq is just salty that was his last good year and his fatass missed so many games in RS in his prime and coasted with his team's underperforming in RS that he thought he shouldve had more

I'm not shyttin' on Nash but what Kobe did was incredible that season. Nash was never half the defender Kobe was. We all know the D'Antoni system inflates #s.

Harden put up 29-11-8 in that system as a pg...mainly bc of the pace & spacing

If it were, Nash wouldn't have had the impact on the teams he did. It's all about position/role and how much you can maximize your impact, especially when you're ballhandling PG and you can only have a limited amount of influence on the defensive end.
