Good back and forth. Weird back in 2011 i wasnt really watching and wishing shyt was better and now in 2015 i wish we could get an exchange like that on tv

i'd say its 50/50... Punk def got under Nash's skin but Nash still spit some hot fire at him.

Punk in general had truthful promos where he tried to get at people with facts, that's how we know Nash ethered him.

When he dropped the Waffle House line he acted like he didn't know what Nash meant and responded like Nash was dissing Waffle House, rather than what he was actually doing: calling him out for looking like a complete piece of garbage. Punk knew this, but didnt want to address it.

I still wonder what the company as a whole had to gain from having punk buried like that. is it possible nash just took it too far or do you think they explicitly gave him free reign to say whatever he wanted to?

I mean punk was the hottest guy they had shouldn't they be doing whatever they can to get him over??? shouldn't NASH be the one to come out of that looking like a fool?

I dunno. not claiming punk to be an all time great but he really didn't get the shot he deserved. they sabotaged him on so many levels.

If he did then you can finally say Big Lazy did something useful in his career. Good for him.

They never once...acted like Punk was bigger than Cena and that's why he didn't stand a chance.

2001...Jim Ross, the biggest Austin supporter kayfabe wise, recognized the Rock was big business during the Undisputed title tournament before Vengeance in Oklahoma City when the crowd booed when Rock tried to give Austin props and then did a huge ROCKY chant afterwards
"THESE people definitely love this man" Ross was authentic like that...Punk didn't get that commentator boost when they cheered him over Cena in the promos.

Nash said in one of those shoots that he threw the short order cook line because they were booking punk to make him look foolish. He also said that some of Punk's lines weren't scripted and that it was an understanding between the two more or less.

I agree though, makes sense to have Nash look foolish from a kayfabe standpoint, but I guess he didn't want that...weird considering how much he accuses others of being marks and taking it too seriously.

Makes sense to make him look foolish? How the fukk is that gonna make money? When did any Punk comedy promo ever make money? Ever? Lol. That original pipe bomb was when he had the spotlight and it was botched on 3 weeks. He got a t shirt and a title reign beating fodder for months...that was it. He was under 5 guys or better....Nash called him a cook and Cripple H finished the punk out process in that weird match where he won....that hen the big bad rebel who was clowning Cripple H started propping him up and teaming with shortly after like he was a geek nobody. Momentum DERAILED. That's what comedy got CM Punk.

Isn't that what the Rock did to Billy Gunn in 1999 :lupe:

Yeah..except it made money and Gunn was proven to be inferior. Rock got higher ratings than the WWE title program and had to be put right back in it Sept 99 since they didn't want the tag champion out ranking the main event players every week.
