Communication is key, but some people try to act ignorant and pretend they don't understand the implications of an apology. (an apology means they regret their actions and vow to correct them)
It's one thing to not believe their apology is sincere. But if you beleive it is you should simply accept it. Instead people use it as an opportunity to lecture about the fact they should regret and correct their actions, which defeats it's entire purpose, because that is already implied by making the apology in the first place.This person has humbled themselves before you, and you chose that moment to strike rather than to understand. That is simply not acceptance. You had an opportunity for closure and chose to leave things in ambiguity. If that's how it is, there really is no point to it.

I understand what youre saying..

But take into consideration the position of the person you're apologizing to. The person you're saying sorry to may have heard sorry a million times from people before you.. An i agree that dont have shyt to do with you, but that maybe the mountain you have to climb, because after you say "sorry" then a bigger task is ahead called regaining trust..

Saying sorry isn't the end, thats the beginning of dealing with a problem..

The bible speaks of how often you supposed to forgive your brother.. Jesus said "70x7", but he never touched on how to fix trust, which is more critical than the actual forgiveness part..
