Did Vince really rip Diesel ringside after a PPV back in 95?

vince was trying to replicate the Rock-n-Wrestling era with all the dumb gimmick wrestlers.

The Kliq hadn't made Vince one of the cool kids yet, so they weren't really running shyt at the time.

It was a bad time for The Empire. :to:

sort of like now.

Honestly, the best type of "Creative control" one can have in WWE is to be seen as edgy, cool or exclusive by the gay and desperately want-to-be-down Vince.

C/S.....I was a bit younger at the time :heh:

You should have seen my lil dumb ass marking out over the crap they had back then

I was like :krs: when Phineas 'slopped' Sunny after she ethered him

I was like :krs: when Bret got to shove his foot in Lawler's mouth

I was like :krs: when Undertaker came up from under the ring and grabbed Nash during his cage match with Bret

I was like :krs: when Bulldog beat up HBK on the beach

I was like :krs: whenever Undertaker scared Yokozuna during their feud

And like the other dude mentioned, I was like :krs: when Barry Horowitz beat Skip.....they made Barry look like such a loser before that, so when he won, the shyt seemed like it was supposed to be front-page news or some shyt

That's why I try not to shyt on today's product too much.....as garbage as it is to us adults now, trust me.....the kids are enjoying it for the most part, mainly because they don't know better

Oh yeah, definitely. One of my biggest :krs: moments of all time was when Warrior made his surprise return to help Hogan at Summerslam 92 I think?

I was also :sadbron: when Diesel cost Taker the belt at Royal Rumble 96 vs Bret.

Vince had the same reaction most of us had after watching a WWF PPV in 1995.

I tried to go back and give it a shot to see if maybe I was just not acknowledging the good shyt at the time... but eh...

The Backlund angle was done very well... that heel turn was unexpected and the set up for it was perfect. It really made him seem like he really wanted that title again and losing that match sent him over the edge.

Most of the Michaels/Diesel storyline was good... but Diesel just got cornier and cornier as his face run went on. Awful. And Michaels was corny too but at least it was in his HBK character way... he didn't REALLY get corny as fukk until the post-WM12, super-face, Jose Lothario in his corner timeframe.

For every well-put-together storyline or feud they did (ones which usually revolved around Bret or Shawn), I can see why it was hard to get momentum, because it would be rivaled a bunch of shyt.

On top of anything, it just seems like they weren't with the times at all around the mid-90s. It was like they were still in 1990 with some of the gimmicks, even the music and the presentation... I'm sure lil' kids were cool with it cause it was definitely geared towards them, but it seemed like a poor imitation of a past era. Didn't feel "current".

LOL

Remember the Lawler/Doink the Clown feud? :deadcena:

At some point, Doink had a bunch of midget clowns in his corner....they was named shyt like Dink, Stink and Pink or something like that

Lawler answered back with a crew of his own 'king midgets'....I think they was named Queasy, Cheesy and Peasy

I remember rooting HARD for Doink and his crew :snoop: :russ:
