Yeah my sister. They loved The Sims, Age of Empire and Warcraft. I believe a significant amount of The Sims players were women.

when I was growing up there was like zero chicks I knew that played games

is it just me or did all these female gamers come out of nowhere the last 6 years or so :dwillhuh:
Yes and no. There wasn't many, and if you did find one with skill? Usually an Asian chick that was a beast at street fighter2 or mortal kombat :francis:

I knew a girl who was a beast at halo as well, I'm talking top level competition good. She had trophies n shyt.

My current girl is a hardcore gamer and I had no idea until we moved in together :manny: We play gears 4 campaign co op, she's playing witcher2 at the moment before finally trying witcher 3 and any games that involve exploration is what she likes. I've never met a chick that is into every genre like she is.

My daughter's are gamers as well :to:

I spent a lot of time at arcades and knew girls that seemed pretty hardcore. stacking quarters up waiting in line for fighters nba jam etc. Had 2 female teachers i knew of that said they gamed a lot. In HS had a chick who only wanted to smoke and game. Was adamant about no sex till marriage so she got tossed...

So no girls y'all know wasn't playing Mario or Sonic or Tetris growing up. Y'all niqqas needed to speak to girls more. Boy or girl where I was from was playing videogames.
Just curious, why put your gf's picture on the coli?

Also, you have to understand that many on this forum are a little older. Game companies did a really shytty job at creating games that would appeal to girls back then. Outside of Mario and Sonic they got shyt.

shyt like this is what they targeted them with:

compare that with say...oh I don't know Ninja Gaiden?

She didn't like me having Ana Foxxx as my avi so I said I'll used her. Been too lazy to change it.

I'm 33 and one of my best friends and my first GF used to be the best player at Mario 3 on NES. Almost every girl I knew as a kid had a NES & Sega.Hell my sisters, my mom, my aunt, and a lot of my female cousins loved Mario too. I just thought it was common back then girls liked videogames too. To me the older I got the less girls I knew played videogames heavy.:yeshrug:

You just mentioned what I said. Outside of Mario and Sonic not many characters from back then were appealing to girls.

When they DID come out with games that would appeal to them, they sucked. You are 33 and older than I am, so you should be able to see how this was a problem?

What on the NES was a classic game that came anywhere close to the strides made with Lara Croft? I can only think of one...Samus

To be fair, most men don't know about cars, guns or Sports. They know the headlines or "star numbers", like how everyone knows Jordan's number is 23, and Lebron, and Kobe, but they can't give you stats, top 5's, etc. Same thing with cars, people know about the Bugatti, and Ferrari, but they don't know gear shift ratio's, drift vs grip tires, etc.

fair argument, as a counter argument I would say that dudes who are kinda interested in those things but not really a hobby to them still know the basics such as slicks are going to be stickier than regular tires, or the fact that .223 rounds are damn near the same as 5.56 rounds. I really had a chick try to tell me that rolling isn't needed in dark souls 3...

I'm sure if you asked the average male on the street if he knew the difference between .223 rounds and 5.56 they wouldn't know. It might seem like common knowledge but a lot of people don't even know the wattage of the average household lightbulb. Sure, online everyone is a genius, but in person, I'm met with a lot of eyebrow raising and shrugging when I ask people questions about specific fields.

Gaming is no different. The average gamer doesn't know what block strings are, or what APM means. Its all about the zeal and how many levels you're willing to dive in, most women and men are only surface dwellers, in this case.

I knew a lot of girls:francis: I guess it depends on your age group

I was in highschool from 2002-2006 and no chicks I knew were gamers. some of the hotter ones were damn near even :hhh: when it came to us playing games

for someone in highschool/college now, it must be pretty normal for there to be a lot of female gamers
Yeah.. I graduated in '08 there were ZERO gamer chicks.
