no doubt. and its diamond in the hood, which is all that matters :win:

Most people never loved Dipset enough to buy their retail shyts. How the fukk does DMX be making crazy grimey street tracks and go multi platinum, but Dipset did that and never sold gold in their primes?

how old are u??? DMX's popularity in the late 90's far surpassed what :scusthov: had at the same time. and thats with him even dropping the biggest selling record in his career in vol 2.

Album should've sold WAY more... Still gets burn from me.... That was my point in the other thread.... An album can be good, and not sell.... That "make better music, and it'll sell" shyt is a cop out.

Yeah and Diplomatic Immunity dropped in 03, the same time as Fif mania. At that time period, if you couldn't go gold, you were doing something wrong. No matter if you a street or commercial rapper. The same people that scream Dipset never respected them enough to buy their $12 retail shyts.

and yall are surprised?

they were never a mainstream crew, and their biggest promotion for that album was having a video crack rap city's rotation that looked like it was ported str8 from a hood dvd.

not to mention that the album was bootlegged heavily. hell, i have the bootleg myself.

they didnt have the resources of mmg or anywhere near that of g-unit. you shouldnt even be trying to compare numbers.

DMX had def jam's machine behind him full throttle and was pushed towards mainstream success.

now take a look at dipset's promotion. the comparison is laughable.

those numbers are counted twice considering it was a double disc too.

but yeah, i never knew too many people that actually owned that album..was bootlegged HEAVILY.
i paid way more than average for it at the time too.

its a cult classic if there ever was one..in terms of it being on a major label, being so loved yet failing to sell units.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster

March 2003... remembered walking into best buy after my community college class and ripping the cd out of the packaging and reading the liner notes while nodding to the anthemic Dipset Anthem.

:ohlawd:

Shiit was love at first listen, breaigh. That album literally changed my life (I remember that summer i copped a pair of all white Court Classics from Costco for 30 bucks and spray painted them shiits FLOURESCENT PINK!!!)

I was a true stan...

But i actually admire the fact that it didn't push more units. Makes it a cult classic in that regard.

One of the greatest ablums of the 21th century.

And this is why people should stop buying bootlegs and go out and purchase the album to show their support.

Exactly. Imagine if these posters said that you purchased the bootleg CDs to Cam's face? That is straight up disrespect.
