I knew it was gonna be big, but not this big.

I'd have a hard time believing anyone would've foresaw just how big it would become because its growth required so much technological advancement. From orders of magnitude leaps in speed to orders of magnitude of leaps in bandwidth to huge advances in the technology enabling a wider variety and increased portability in connected devices.

Nah, not when it was so difficult to get online and actually stay online and serf the web at a fukking snail crawl's space.

A lot of ya'll nikkas don't remember when your internet used to talk to you, just to get on you had to listen to that bytch sing to you "WaAaAaAaAaA beep boop beep boop WaAaAaAaAaA bop beep" for a good minute or so. Then when you finally connected to the internet you hear that sweet "WELCOME!" all loud and happy and shyt. Then of course you gotta get on some shyt like Netscape and take a good minute to actually load a single website all the way. And then all the webpages look like this:

Space Jam

And of course all of this could be killed at any second when ya mom's picked up the phone in your house and hear the screams of the internet, then you hear the screams from her "GET THE HELL OFF THE INTERNET I'M EXPECTING A PHONE CALL!!!":mjlol:

Then DSL came in and changed the game:blessed:That's when i knew them nikkas was onto something big here, and the rest was history as they say:wow: Turned all 3,086 of our free AOL mail CD's into permanent coasters.:russ:

:heh: it's funny thinking about it....

people say they don't like reddit because reading threads or whatever is too confusing...

But when I started messing around on message boards, they all looked like reddit does now.

Hell, the first message board I was ever on STILL looks like that.

HELL TO THE NAW

And anybody saying anything differently is either very rich right now or is lying to yo ass.

Man, I never heard of no internet until like the mid '90s and back then.

I first only used that shyt in the library for like book reports. It was too slow and time consuing to do anything else, only like upper/middle class type families and nerds had that shyt.

Just watch like "Saved by the Bell" or "Family Matters" or shyt. Computers are seen as something that are for nerdy "Steve Urkel" type nikkaz.

Then, you started seeing shyt like WWF/WCW & like record labels having like web sites with "special content", but still it wasn't like that big. It was like for hobbyists and people who had money still.

Then the perverts got involved because of porn companies (who are the unsung heroes of the internet) and people like Cindy Margolis.

Then the bomb drops. . . .

NAPSTER.

Once Napster came around in '98/'99 that's when it became obvious the internet was never going anywhere and would be around for a while.

That's when people started to get scared, especially in corporate America

Social media coming with Friendster, then Myspace, then Facebook, then Twitter is what got us here right now

Just wait till The Internet of Things REALLY takes off.

EVERYTHING will be connected to the internet in one way, or another.
