HELL TO THE NAW
And anybody saying anything differently is either very rich right now or is lying to yo ass.
Man, I never heard of no internet until like the mid '90s and back then.
I first only used that shyt in the library for like book reports. It was too slow and time consuing to do anything else, only like upper/middle class type families and nerds had that shyt.
Just watch like "Saved by the Bell" or "Family Matters" or shyt. Computers are seen as something that are for nerdy "Steve Urkel" type nikkaz.
Then, you started seeing shyt like WWF/WCW & like record labels having like web sites with "special content", but still it wasn't like that big. It was like for hobbyists and people who had money still.
Then the perverts got involved because of porn companies (who are the unsung heroes of the internet) and people like Cindy Margolis.
Then the bomb drops. . . .
NAPSTER.
Once Napster came around in '98/'99 that's when it became obvious the internet was never going anywhere and would be around for a while.
That's when people started to get scared, especially in corporate America
Social media coming with Friendster, then Myspace, then Facebook, then Twitter is what got us here right now
