your parents definitely didn't teach you reading comprehension or how to read past the headline of news articles.

Thiiiiiiiiiiiiis
A lot of people took pity on me because I was a genuinely nice girl, but I was definitely food. Could’ve been a lot worse. Smh
I remember my college boyfriend said I was so naive that he was worried about me lmao
I was so sheltered. Then the real world hits you at 90 miles/hour when shyt gets real.
I’ll say my people definitely taught us about finances, education, ownership, etc so I’m good on that. But NO STREET SMARTS. Trusted everyone. Could never imagine anyone doing anything bad to me because I would never do anything bad to anyone else. My family is staunchly Christian so even when people wronged them they were cautious moving forward, but basically turning the other cheek, never commenting on the bad deeds of others, but highly critical of the young people in the family.
I would’ve moved way differently when I was younger if I knew how it really was.
I don't think you necessarily have to directly show your kids how to do shyt, but it can be a huge benefit to talk through your day with your kids when you do things. Talking about what you're doing, how you're doing it, sharing your feelings and thought processes with them - that gives them a HUGE step up later in life.
Damn. That's a great idea. I'll implement that.
They should you ungrateful posNo.
And they both thought they they should be sitting on my yacht just because they fed me while i was growing up
Yes, you prepare them for the world by teaching them critical life skills like how to think, how to use common sense. There's a whole world of media ready to brainwash your children into bullshyt. That's why you have to teach them early how to distinguish bullshyt from everything else.
