Diddy talking about diluting the culture is kind of ironic isn't it?
Him and his multi million dollar video budgets are directly responsible for the label having so much power in the 2000's the backlash of that created the independent artist, and the backlash from that created microwave rap like cardi b and cash me outside girl. Shiny suits, shouting out car and liquor brands in your songs, selling out culture. It's 100 percent his fault.
Hiphop is not happy with Diddy either to be honestfukk outta here!
You were Mr. Shiny suit!
Diddy DID NOT discover talent...
He only was great at MARKETING it..
BIG..MA$E and THE LOX already we're respected and known for thier craft prior to getting with Puff
I remember seeing BIG in the Source as an Unsigned Hype feature and hearing him on Mr. Cee mixtapes
I was a fan of Mase Murder when he was with Children of the corn
I first heard the (Warlocs) Lox on Clue and S&S tapes I use to cop from Harlem Music hut long before they debuted on Bad Boy
Diddy ain't discovered shyt that Dame grease...minnosota..50 grand and Jacob York had already found
yup he mad in not relevant in music anymorehes prolly mad because he doesnt fit in with the younger cats of today in any way..thats why he's saying that shyt
yup he mad in not relevant in music anymore
You're serious? He isn't squarely to blame for that. Many artists played a rile in that drom some of our favorites right down to us as consumers.
Diddy wasn't the first to shoot a multi milli video. If I am not mistaken, Pac's "California Love" was one of the first multi million dollar videos. Diddy tried to one up Death Row with Biggie's "Hypnotize" video. Before the Shiny Suit era, The Roots and The Fugees were critical of the music and the images that were out at the time.
Nas, my favorite rapper, had dropped It Was Written and went double platinum with it, which opened the door for for what Puff did a year later.
dap undap don't hate on the entire south but Master P put out a lot of trash music and would still be doing it if he could sell some more...nikka just compared Diddy to Master P.
Difference is Diddy finnesed his Artists while they put out great music.
Master P somehow finnessed the world into buying trash ass music from his family members.
The south as a whole put out the worst hip hop out of any region since hip hop started.
I disagree with you, he ruined the lives of Craig Mack and many others. His gayness has made others visually uncomfortable and he seems to be a money hungry shrewd business man. He even tried to take credit for a remix that Easy Moe B did. That is a lie. Like it or not, Diddy is one of the most respected figures in Hip Hop. So to say Hip Hop is not happy with Diddy is misguided.
You're serious?
