Him and his multi million dollar video budgets are directly responsible for the label having so much power in the 2000's the backlash of that created the independent artist, and the backlash from that created microwave rap like cardi b and cash me outside girl. Shiny suits, shouting out car and liquor brands in your songs, selling out culture. It's 100 percent his fault.

He isn't squarely to blame for that. Many artists played a rile in that drom some of our favorites right down to us as consumers.

Diddy wasn't the first to shoot a multi milli video. If I am not mistaken, Pac's "California Love" was one of the first multi million dollar videos. Diddy tried to one up Death Row with Biggie's "Hypnotize" video. Before the Shiny Suit era, The Roots and The Fugees were critical of the music and the images that were out at the time.

Nas, my favorite rapper, had dropped It Was Written and went double platinum with it, which opened the door for for what Puff did a year later.

Diddy DID NOT discover talent...

He only was great at MARKETING it..

BIG..MA$E and THE LOX already we're respected and known for thier craft prior to getting with Puff

I remember seeing BIG in the Source as an Unsigned Hype feature and hearing him on Mr. Cee mixtapes

I was a fan of Mase Murder when he was with Children of the corn

I first heard the (Warlocs) Lox on Clue and S&S tapes I use to cop from Harlem Music hut long before they debuted on Bad Boy

Diddy ain't discovered shyt that Dame grease...minnosota..50 grand and Jacob York had already found

Even tho you may be right aint that the case with most artists in the game? The "major players" in the game just
take the "little guys" and have the labels spending alot of money on them and putting them on bigger platforms while getting
credit for "discovering" them.

Look at Dre. Ive known about Kendrick (and Jay Rock) since 2005-06 through mixtapes TDE released and shyt they did with The Game.
But he gets credit for Kendrick.

50 was obviously around before but internationally Dre & Em gets all the credit for him.

Snoop was around locally and was almost signed to Above The Law but it didnt work out so he ended up on Death Row probably through Warren G.

Theres millions of stories like these.

yup he mad in not relevant in music anymore

right..puff is from a different generation of music....his thing was always being able to market music that can play anywhere and make cats dance...not just the streets...the lazy sample heavy, thugs and hugs type of music (i.e shiny suit era)..as much as he doesnt like it, his time has passed...he is the old guard himself now...he's no longer in tune with the youth musically...that was the main reason he used to market himself back in the day into an A&R position with andre harrell....but the nikka is about damn near 50...no more trying to be all up in the videos, albums, etc with his artists or trying to remain the number 1 star on his label...its time for him to play the background and focus on all the other diversified businesses he has and let someone younger take the reigns of bad boy music.

nikka just compared Diddy to Master P.:mjlol:
Difference is Diddy finnesed his Artists while they put out great music.
Master P somehow finnessed the world into buying trash ass music from his family members.

The south as a whole put out the worst hip hop out of any region since hip hop started.
dap undap don't hate on the entire south but Master P put out a lot of trash music and would still be doing it if he could sell some more...

That is a lie. Like it or not, Diddy is one of the most respected figures in Hip Hop. So to say Hip Hop is not happy with Diddy is misguided.
I disagree with you, he ruined the lives of Craig Mack and many others. His gayness has made others visually uncomfortable and he seems to be a money hungry shrewd business man. He even tried to take credit for a remix that Easy Moe B did.

He is respected due to his power to black ball people but he is not respected for any other reason and not everyone respects him. Drake doesn't respect him, Fifty doesn't and Future called him an old bytch.

While what diddley is saying is true....the fact is this nikka wouldn't be saying none of this shyt if he was making money off some of these new nikkas. Lets keep it real this nikka would have no problem with the current climate if he was seeing the M's in his bank accounts multiply off the back of some o' deez mumblers. Sometimes u gotta look at the messenger before u accept the message.

and sorry, no, he can't complain. he's part of the selling out hip hop to corporate interests which is the exact reason so much trash and paint by numbers music gets the most promotion and radio play. there is so much good music available right now that's not being heard because corporations and megalabels have the control now.
