Exactly it's hearsay and lies to make a profit. But since Puff was targeted in the media almost a month ago, he cannot stay quiet anymore on these matters. For his personal and professional interest he will need to shut these down and defend himself.

Lets say he did rape her. What evidence can she provide from 20 years ago to prove that? Not having evidence wouldnt change the fact that it happened if it did.
He didn't want to settle the way it was originally proposed so he knew there would be risks of having that first one go public and impact his brand and business. It was bound to happen either by that lawsuit or the tell all book. Cassie was looking for $30 M and the rights to do a tell all. Puff didn't want the tell all and offered 10 m because he seen it as a lose lose that he would have to pay her and allow her to still disclose and disparage him through a book.
Now after the string of other suits, he's being sued for he is going to be in a position to defend himself and go from being the bad guy to the victim then hero. He has done that before for other types of issues but not this extreme in this age of social media. Once he put his plan down and is ready he won't be looking back and will continue to deny the allegations and move forward with his music.
