I grew up in Chicago and I've lived in New York, Japan, and now Charlotte. I haven't spent much time in Atlanta, nor have I spent any time in Houston, but I can attest that it's much easier getting laid in New York or Chicago than Charlotte. I've been in the latter for the past 4 months, and the only p*ssy I've gotten was bought. I can't even find any black professional bytches my own age.

Meeting people alone is harder in the South than in large northern cities because southern cities are less dense and more sprawled out. That's a terrible combination for a big city.

Sorry to divert from the subject, but how was it living in Japan breh? I can't wait to visit over there, but I'm always curious about being a big black man over there (I'm 6'4, and yes I will try and convince a woman I am Kobe :lolbron: )

More differences:

North:
--Better ethnic food. The shyt you guys call "Japanese" food is a bunch of diced up meat thrown on a hibachi and slathered in fukking mayonnaise :mindblown:
--We have Asian girls. Generally speaking the South is diverse...by fukking 1955 standards :snoop:

You'll be treated like a celebrity there. People would literally come up and ask if they could take a picture with me. Broads will come up to you and ask if you can teach them English as an excuse to get with you.

Japan is like Disney World for adults, breh :ohlawd:

:dwillhuh:

Houses on my street were all $400+K. Guess they were doing something right. :yeshrug:

They're doing okay by Southern standards, but in professional circles up north, a 400k house is average, if not below average.

These are probably people who decided that the northern pace of living is too fast and decided to downscale by going south--in other words, transplants who couldn't cut it.

The main reason (in my opinion) people are so much nicer in the south relative to up north that people seem to neglect is the weather. The type of weather you experience has an unconscious effect on people's general disposition (look at Washington's inordinately high suicide rate, that can probably be attributed to all the rain they get over there).

It's generally warmer down south so the people are also generally warmer and more friendly. Up north we get cold weather and have developed a culture of simply trying to get where we're going, to be warm again. If you see someone in the street in the cold you're alot less likely to chop it up with them because you're trying to get indoors. I've noticed even up north, people are friendlier in the summer time, because of the warmer weather.

Difference I've noticed:

- Black people are definitely more color struck in the south, light skinned people are thought higher of than dark skinned people.
- People are alot more concerned with "keeping up appearances" in the south, acting as if things are ok with someone/people even when they're not; less honesty in public.
- Much slower pace down south, again probably attributed to the weather. You're more likely to take a leisurely stroll when its nice out than when its cold.
- Stronger connection to Christianity among the black community in the south, probably attributable to closer ties to slavery.
- I feel like any type of intellectuals from the south have a complex about the southern slow thing, and naturally over compensate.
- The easy accessibility of alcohol in the south also had me :ohhh: at first lol.

Let us know when you talk to your first redneck........the one where you'll learn more about him in the first 2 minutes of convo than you would your own girl (+ Rep if he's an auto mechanic :heh:) . Or the fast talking short nikka who makes a comment about everything when y'all riding together........or the 35 year old goon (who just tryna make it out chyea) or the granny who insist you eat some of her food (cakes, pie, fried chicken, pork chops etc). I been here a while but I'm trying to move out west myself. Never even had the desire to live up north but I would to "tryout" NY for a month or 2.

more differences

South:
--People get married young as fukk. Almost all my co-workers in their mid-late 20s/early 30s are married or engaged :scusthov:. Within high finance in New York, that's fukking weird.
--Too much fukking emphasis on religion. Maybe if y'all nikkas quit caring about a magical white man in the sky, your per capita GDP and unemployment wouldn't be looking so :flabbynsick:
--People care about stupid shyt like what football team you support

North:
--Harder working. People put in longer hours and (rightfully) place work over family. fukk having kids and a wife. :pacspit: Let's get this money :obama:
--People care about important shyt like what Ivy you went to for college, how prestigious your employer is, and what you got on your SATs :obama:

i think 60% of it is us being from up north, the other 40% is us just being from somewhere else period, compared 2 our southern, midwestern, and west coast counterparts a ny/eastcoast accent is way more distinguishable, so when a official eastcoast nikka lets the verbal spill, southern broads be like :noah:

Income goes down in conjunction with home prices breh. You should know this.

In industries where demand is low and skillets aren't difficult to find, yes. But I can say personally that my base pay is above NYC market because I work in an esoteric field in finance. Bankers at the bulge brackets in the South also make NYC market, and I wouldn't be surprised if tech people also make NYC market pay in the South.

In Charlotte especially you've got a lot of people making NYC income paying Charlotte market prices on rent/housing, so nice cars are probably more prevalent here than in nice areas in the North due to more disposable income.

With that said, even if your disposable income is more in the South, you're giving up a lot with regards to convenience, culture, and diversity. I'd rather just work my ass off up North so I can make a high enough income that matches the disposable income I'd have in the South, and this is the attitude a lot of Northerners take. Those who don't are castoffs :manny:

In ny yall pay 2000 a month for a shytty house with no yard
Down here 2k a month could buy u a house whip insurance and cover bills

Ny- dirty, congested, rat infested arabs erwere
Down here we got space and the only terrorists i c work at texaco

Up north got toll roads, down here except for GA 400 we ride free

Insurance is cheaper

N i like talking to neighbors about the fukkin weather. In turn when someone tries to steal yo shyt they will come out n lick shots in tha air because they know you and will look out for you. Does that happen up north@ramdam12?

1.) Never wanted a house with a yard to begin with. The fukk I look like mowing a god damn lawn or paying Jose to do it for me? fukk that shyt. If I want to see some grass, I can walk to Central Park. Also, we don't need big house. Unlike you guys, we don't spend a lot of time in the house because we actually have shyt to do :manny:
2.) You have free roads and cheaper insurance, but in NYC you don't even have to drive :manny:. Monthly transportation expenses should be less than 200 bucks a month, and that's if you cab to a lot of places. Without a cab, you're looking at a $110 monthly subway pass only.
3.) I lived in the nicest neighborhood in Manhattan, so I never had to worry about someone stealing my things anyway :manny:

I find it very hard to believe that you lived in tha same neighborhood as cornelius vanderbilts offspring, the astors etc. But hey, to each his own. Move the fukk back up there if you hate it down here that much.

I never said I had the nicest place in the nicest neighborhood :ld: . Within a block in New York City, or even in the same building, income can range wildly.

And yeah, I intend to move back in a year. I hate it down here :to:
