LOL Dirk over who? Their rebounding sh!ts on a 7' jump shooter. Chuck never averaged under 10rpg, even at 6'4 and was one of the most dynamic scorers from the PF position. When has Dirk been the leader on his team? Mike Finley? Nash? Walker? Kidd? Jet? What about those years when you could shut Dirk down by putting a 6'7 swing man on him? Those couple of years where Jet/Stack carried the Mavs in the playoffs. Dirk one of the greatest shooters we have ever seen, but that's really the only aspect of his game. And Dirk can't pass for ish.

Chuck 1st year in Phoenix was 25, 12 & 5. Karl Malone went from a low post player to a high post, pick and pop player and improved on his passing as time went on...2nd leading NBA scorer. KG is just as good as a jumpshooter from mid to high-post, better post player, better on the ball defender, much better passer.

Their scoring, rebounding, passing are all better than Dirk. Dirk just has a ring. These are 3 of the most unguardable PFs in history. Dirk used to regularly get shut down and folded.

when did Chuck or Malone lead their team to an NBA title?

Malone was about the most unreliable late game "all time great" ever.

And Chuck was an embarrassing defensive player.

and when did Dirk "used to get shut down?"

KG's regular season numbers
19.3ppg 10.6rpg 4.0rpg 50%

Playoff numbers
19.5ppg 11.0rpg 3.5rpg 47%

Dirk regular season
22.9ppg 8.3rpg 2.6apg 47%

Playoff numbers
25.9ppg 10.3rpg 2.3apg 46%

When the playoffs roll around, Dirk rebounds just as well as KG, but brings it offensively and plays big in clutch moments. Malone's production went down slightly in the playoffs, and yet again Dirk rebounded just as well as him.

Only Barkley has a case for being better than Dirk as far as I'm concerned, the other two guys came up small when it mattered most and you could not rely on either in the clutch. Remember "The mailman doesn't deliver on sunday" shyt Pippen said about Malone? :smh:

Dirk did more with less than KG and Malone, and even though I love Barkley he didn't get it done either.

Co-sign in my mommas name...i love dirk to death, but this one issue here really makes it impossible for him to even be in the discussion with barkley kg and malone.

We gonna act like dirk wasn't the leader of a mavs team that had the best regular season record and got straight up trounced...i mean ran the fukk out the building by the golden state warriors...:childplease: the golden state warriors team THAT WAS ONE OF THE WORST STATISTICAL DEFENSIVE TEAMS OF ALL TIME:childplease: I am sorry but you cannot be 7 ft tall and get manhandled...MANHANDLED...by the likes of Captain Jack...Jason Richardson...and Al Harrington...:childplease: Really dirk, you let J Rich and Al Harrington bully you off the block?:childplease:

And we are also forgetting about Dirks other great achievement...i do believe he is the only player to get his MVP award and then fly his ass back home instead of play in another game...because...you know...he lost in the first round to golden state:childplease:

Bu-bu-bu- Timmy lost to the eight seeded grizzlies one year

Timmy was hurt, manu was hurt, parker was hurt, and Timmy had already won 4 titles by then...:smugdraper:

He redeemed himself, explain how Barkley and Malone redeemed themselves with their playoff failures.

KG didn't even win the damn finals MVP for his lone title. You can talk about all Dirk's failures, but he's still the only one out of these 4 guys that has won a title as the man and has a finals MVP to show for it.

This thread is a case of a player being overrated after winning a championship.

No one would've said dirk was better than KG, Malone, and Barkley had he not won his lone title.

We like to use the eye test, Dirk was only a better shooter than all 3, but in other areas he was clearly inferior to them. Not to mention he played with multiple allstars throughout the duration of career. Malone had Stockton, KG had no one in his prime in Minny, and Barkley, had KJ a few years in phoenix.

First, I don't put any stock into finals MVP meaning anything. KG was the leader of the boston team bar none, I don't think anyone could argue with that. KG set the tone for the team from game one to the last game of the finals, I don't think any single person would argue the fact that KG was the single biggest reason why Boston won the title that year.

Did Barkley and Malone choke alot? Barkley I am going to give a pass on because he is really all of maybe 6 "6" and he spent his career battling men with 4 to 8 inches on him, and men with much larger wingspans, it is really a testament to Charles skill level that he was even able to have a career playing power forward at his height. Malone? Yeah, he was choke artist. However, I never once saw another player or team impose there will on charles or karl like the warriors did on Dirk. I never saw Charles and Karl fold up like I saw Dirk fold up. I saw them drive to the lane and miss shot after shot after shot after shot, but I never saw them just become so passive as to not shoot the ball, or to just get completely bullied by men who were 4 to 6 inches shorter and 20 pounds lighter.

Didn't Dirk also lose to a heat team that was down 2 - 0 in the finals :mjpls: Didn't Dirk lost to a heat team that had the shadows of ANTOINE WALKER AND GARY PEYTON playing key minutes :mjpls:

I like Dirk...I think he is a top 25 player in league history...But I can't put him over barkely, who spent his career mauling men much taller and longer...pause...than him...I can't put him over Malone...who I cannot once recall having his will just broken to the point where it was obvious he didn't even want to play anymore...like Dirk looked in that warriors series...I can't put him over KG, who career-wise shyts all over dirk when it comes to one on one defense, help defense, rebounding, and blocked shots...because to me those are all very important things to take into consideration when judging a players career... :yeshrug:
