Dirk is better than Charles Barkley, KG and Malone

I can see Dirk being better then Malone but better then KG the greatest all around PF?

If you want to look at career accomplishments...Malone got that edge over KG, but all of a sudden it is OUT OF the QUESTION in your mind that Dirk is better than KG?

What kind of logic is this?

Malone did not accomplish more then KG. He beats him in points but KG beats him in every other category.

Malone and Dirk would not have done as well as KG did with the trash he had to play with in Minnesota.

You guys realize that the 2006 finals team consisted of a starting lineup of Devin Harris, Adrian Griffin, Erick Dampier, and Josh Howard, alongside Dirk, right?

Seriously, you guys understand that Dirk's best right-hand man in those years were an okay Josh Howard and a streaky JET, right?

Dirk is one of only 4 players to average 25-10 in the playoffs, and he's played with no other superstar. Sorry, but JET and Josh Howard are no superstars. Even 37 year old Jason Kidd is no superstar. Dirk was THE GUY on all those squads. He got the ball in crunch time, he shot clutch FTs, he made clutch shots, and he was the guy who held the team together.

The Mavericks are historically a .500 team when Dirk is injured/inactive for a reason.

And for the subpar rebounding numbers,

Dude takes outside jumpers because he's elite at it, and arguably the greatest 7-foot shooting big man of ALL TIME. He can't get ORebs because he's shooting the rock from 18+ feet away from the basket. I admit, he's not a great rebounder, but his numbers are skewed because he constantly shoots the ball from far away.

He straight owned OKC and MIA in that playoff run. He went 12-15 from the field and 24-24 from the line in Game 1 of the WCF in 2011. One of the greatest performances of all time. No doubt he is better than KG, Malone, and Barkley. I don't care what anybody says about those guys, none of them beat players of LaMarcus Aldridge, Kobe, Pau, Bynum, KD, Russel Westbrook, Bosh, LeBron, and Wade's caliber in one playoff run.

Yeah, well you can get a guy like Tyson Chandler to guard the opposition's dominant scoring PF/C and let Dirk take the easy matchup.

I mean, historically speaking, that's what happens most of the time. You don't have your prominent scorer guarding serious guys because you don't want him in foul trouble.

I agree that Dirk's defense isn't shyt compared to those other dudes, but his offensive game overpowers that, especially when you consider that you can pair him with a 5 that strictly plays physical and guards the rim (Tyson Chandler) and brings no shot or FT% to the table and still win consistently.

I got a question...why does every argument for Dirk's greatness only revolve around him shooting the ball? I just went through every post that says "dirk is better" and every argument begins and ends with "dirk shot this percentage, dirk jump shot is this, dirk jumpshot is unstoppable..." and then the argument just ends... I went through every post that said KG is better and everyone of those post mentions KG's ability to play one on one defense, or help defense, or his ability to rebound, or his ability to block shots... Why is it that all the pro Dirk talk begins and ends with his ability to shoot the ball, and all the Pro KG talk begins with his ability to play defense, then goes into his ability to block shots, or goes into his ability to score, or goes into his ability to be a leader... Really, can anyone in the "Dirk is better than" make any valid argument...any argument at all for his greatness, outside of his ability to shoot... can anyone make any valid argument for dirk being AT BEST a borderline bad defender...

And something else...okay Dirk is a great shooter...top 5 shooter of all time...but...what does that matter when they couldn't get past the spurs because Duncan is averaging 28 14 6 5 in the series Are the pro Dirk people telling me that Dirk is not to be held accountable for the person he is supposed to be guarding (IE a PF guarding a PF, I know that would rarely happen, because Dirk was such a terrible defender dallas used to just try and hide him on whoever played opposite of duncan) but for the sake of argument... People talk about "well dirk shot this and was money in the clutch and blah blah blah"...How many points did durant have how many points did zbo have how man points (well i almost said Gasol, who also use to torch dirk on the regular, but that last playoff series where dallas swept them gasol played the worse basketball of his career) It's like the pro Dirk people are just looking at the sportscenter highlight and see that Dirk had 29 on 11-19 shooting...are like ...then the ticker keeps going and it says "Zack Randolph: 28 ( 9-14 ).... and the pro Dirk people just turn the TV off like

Dirk has played with 9...I repeat...9 players to make at least one all star appearance...6 of these players were put in as reserves...which means they were nominated by a coach...which means they didn't get to the all star team because a bunch of people voted for them...they got to the all star team because a coach used some criteria to measure players and said "this guy is playing like an allstar"...who are the 9 all star players that KG has played with?
