your not winning sh!t with monta as your sg

thats just real as it gets

jerry west knew that and gave him the

:camby:

they weren't a serious contender but they were looking like they were capable of making the WCF before the rondo trade

after that their efficiency fell off a cliff and landed on a mortal kombat spike pit

rondo single handedly ruined the mavs this season, shyt is a damn shame

Breh, I respect you and I usually enjoy your insight for ball but to blame this all on Rondo is short-sighted and incorrect.

Rondo didn't choose to be traded to the Mavs. He didn't choose to play in a system that contrasts with his style of play. He didn't choose to share a backcourt with Ellis, another ball-dominant guard that can't shoot (at least not consistently). He wasn't responsible for Chandler Parsons' injury. He's not the reason why Dirk can't play defense to save his life. He's not the reason that the Mavs failed to get out of the first round of the playoffs since winning the championship in 2011. Yes, Rondo was far from a model citizen while a Mav but the failure experiment with him and the organization is all on Cuban. The Mavs were never a good fit for Rondo's style of play yet the organization chose to force the trade to get him (and give away Crowder and Wright). Now the organization is looking real funny in the light. This isn't Rondo's fault. The state of the Mavs is Cuban and Carlisle's fault. They failed to surround Dirk with talent in spite of him taking a paycut. Don't scapegoat Rondo for the Mavs' epic fail to improve since 2011.

Try to fit a square peg in a circle and blame the square peg for not fitting in, brehs...:heh:

im too lazy to look into it, but didnt they stuggle like crazy vs playoff caliber squads all season? they would beat up on the patsies and get tossed up by the good squads. they werent anywhere near a top tier team at any point of the season

I'm not saying they weren't better because the gamble obviously didn't pay off, but title contender? not even close

The Mavs did indeed start off the season hot on offense, in fact they were #1 in scoring before the trade. Rondo was brought in with the thought of being a great starting defender.. Which is the department the Mavs lacked in. Once Rondo came aboard, the numbers decreased and of course people (including myself) thought it would of taken a while for him to gel with the team. Obviously that never happened and here we are. It happens in sports, you sign team cancers and learn from it. Can't really think of any former Mavs players in the last decade that bumped heads with our head coach like Rondo. Maybe behind doors like all sports teams but not during games.
