:salute:To Dirk my favorite player!

But I won't participate in KD slander; he's one of us now

No. Until he gets in the post I don't wanna hear it

Lotta truth right here.If Durant had a "back to the basket" game like Dirk, he'd be unstoppable.

When the game's getting frantic, it's best to fight it with a post game.

Not jump shots.

That's Durants problem.

If he had a back down game, the Thunder are in the Finals this year.

Hey I made that!!!!!!!!

Yeah, younger Dirk was a freak. Teams would put small forwards on him not because he couldn't punish them, but he was just too quick & skilled for other bigmen.

Yes they were similar. But Dirk never had the handles of KD. And KD never had the size to bang with bigs that Dirk had or has.

The most amazing part about KD to me is his handles and the ability to finish to be that long. Now his handles aren't on KG level (who I still say had the best handles out of a true 7 footer....hakeem was only really 6-10), but to be that tall cross folks up then pull up for three or do the whole Kobe, MJ dribble drive and then pull up is amazing.

Dirk took advantage of his matchups in the post though during the playoffs especially. KD should study some of Dirk's best games to see how to exploit mismatches. To many times I see him having a guy 6'7 on him and because of his lack of bulk or just not wanting to he ends up taking a long jumper. Which is a good shot for him but at 7'0 tall he could get in the post and get an easy 12-15 foot look anytime he wants. Dirk is an excellent 3 point shooter but unlike these players today he wasn't jacking up 6 or 7 3's a game and he knew his bread and butter was in that post with that unblockable turnaround.
y'all really gonna rewrite history as if he been playing in the post his entire career?:skip::beli:

Durant is actually pretty good in the post. To the point where he can actually draw consistent double teams.

The thing is that he doesn't really have the shooters or spacing to attack out of the post consistently because it's easy to double him when you got Roberson, Adams, and Westbrook (People with awful range) that can be left because they're not consistent three point threats.

But yeah, he's been a little less aggressive in the post too this year. Might be due to that injury.

I feel bad for all the children that started watching basketball when guys like Kobe and Dirk were washed. Prime Dirk was a FREAK, not just in terms of skill but athleticism.
