I honestly don't remember the contract situation but it just seems like Cuban believed that the team had gotten lucky like some people were saying. I legit believe that was a great team and they should have tried to at least keep their core and come back the next year. Instead they go from winning a championship to coming back with a weak roster that got killed by OKC in 2012. Stupid if you ask me.
I think Cuban was offering guys like Chandler short 1 year deals since it was an older team and because the new CBA was upcoming and he wanted to have cap room to sign Deron Williams or another big FA.

Ahh now I remember what it was :mjlol:

It wasn't about being able to afford the guys from the championship team, it was more about Cuban trying to have cap room from Deron Williams and Dwight Howard. Good lord Cuban is an idiot :dead:

i remember clearly mavs were underdogs in the west semi's, wcf and finals and a sizable amount of people thought the blazers would take them out in the 1st rd :skip:

but now 6 years after the fact the narrative is the mavs were this stacked team with nba starters all over their roster :heh:

THIS

and they were one of the deepest teams ever. had nba starters on reserve.

but let these casuals cook and expose themselves.

People kill me with that dirk won by himself shyt, he was balling but he was no different than he was in 08, his supporting cast came to play every night some of the best team ball I've ever seen

That 2011 squad just got hot at the right time and went on a run

That team wasn't that special, remember majority of people picked them to lose to the Blazers in the first round

They caught fire against the Lakers and took off from there

That shyt was crazy:wow:

They were 55-18 in the 73 games Dirk played that year :manny:. That was pace for 60-61 wins if he doesn't miss that 9 game stretch. They were a really difficult matchup for teams since they were stretching the floor with 3-4 shooters at a time before anyone else was doing that to a large extent since Dirk shot so much from deep and they ran the best zone in basketball :ehh:. They also went 9-10 deep too. Still waiting to get that team added to 2k :aicmon:
