The defense played well in both games, dumb ass. They had already played well the 1st game, well enough to win. They played well the 2nd game as well. Well enough to win. How much can you improve if you already played well?
The Giants games are 100% irrelevant to what I'm talking about because the Patriots' D played well in both those games.
You want some examples of what I'm talking about?
Look at the 1990 49ers who beat the Giants in the regular season and then got shut down in the playoffs. Ended the Montana era and everything.
Look at the 1990 Bills who beat the Giants in the regular season and then got shut down in the Super Bowl. They put Belichick's defensive gameplan for that game in the HOF. Literally. You can go to Canton and see his lil notebook.
Look at the 2001 Rams who beat the Patriots in the regular season. Not so much success in the Super Bowl.
Everything you're saying is off base because the Giants were never a prolific offense that lit up Beli's defense in the first place.
