If it wasn't for social media this sudden spike in black consciousness probably wouldn't be happening at all. Social media and the easy access to information has made it easier than ever to study and uncover the truth about the past.
Us learning about the past is exactly what they DONT want. Us learning exactly how deep and creative systemic oppression is, is exactly what they DONT want. .

Folks are acting like there were no such thing as books, the very same Internet that they are using at this very moment and etc weren't around before social media and networking popped off. You had to be interested and go out your way to find that shyt so you can miss me with that. The info was all there if you were interested in wanting to know so that's just excuses.
And for the record, police shootings and police brutality involving black men has always been in the media as well as civil unrest. Though this was not what made me woke. As a 12 year old, the whole 41 shots, amadu diallo was the thing at the moment. Same reaction, same outrage, same news coverage, same result instead of deray and black lives matter, there was Al Sharpton.
So no, this is not anything new.

Not by a long stretch... Its easy to be force fed the information they want you to have... but seeking the truth is a something totally different.... that takes fervor and effort.. and most people aren't bout that.... Its a lot of misinformation on the internet and documentaries as well... but people rather be spoon fed whatever's digestible than to seek information that really matters
