WTT was a classic, that distant relatives shyt has no replay value, wack.

The Live show was hella dope for DR, one of the reasons I hope they do another album is for people to get a chance to see them live. No joke even if you aint into reggae you gotta peep that. Makes you appreciate the album more.

Lets just leave Nas and Jay out of it because we never get anywhere with that conversation...

Compare Damien's performance to Kanyes...Both in tone and substance...It's hard to argue that WTT will have better legs...As for "in the moment" WTT has the populist decision based on instant impact....

I actually liked both albums more than I thought I would...

Seen both and I preferred The Distant Relatives show. Watch the Throne is a great arena show though and if you've only seen a few shows and are into mainstream stuff its fantastic, especially when they rose up on the stages in the crowd. That show utilized arena rap the best. But since The Hard Knock Life tour we've seen the ceiling for which arena rap can go
Distant Relatives is a much more organically dope show just in terms of like a band and showcasing the two genres. Maybe cause I saw them in London where there's a bit of a popularity for reggae and east coast based Hip Hop the crowds at the Hammersmith and Wembley Arena were way more liver but that show was like a festival just a dope mix of different live music and lots of blends and things over the records work.. Its a show that kinda makes you appreciate and embrace the different styles and stuff.

Shout out to anyone who went to the July 2010 London show which was probably one of the best live shows there, just because the crowd was up for it that night

DR set hip hop foward 10 years, WTT set hip hop back 20 :wow:

The c00nery displayed by c00nye and jigger was on another level
WTT was a status quo album with elite production and packaging.. Although it seems that people want to credit it as sometype of "pro black" album..Which in fairness when set up against the money, clothes and hoes rhetoric of some of Jay's previous work makes that knee jerk reaction understandable...It was weird listening to Jay big up the concept of more women of color getting shine, while Kanye shamelessly lusted after white womenz....

American Gangster was more "pro Black" than WTT imo...And definately more focused and cohesive...

DR was a forward thinking album that wasn't produced and packaged on the same level as WTT... Partially due to the lacking of sexiness and box office of the participants...Outside of a vaccum I think 30 years from now DR will have much more value..But then again, the way society is trending, who is writing the history and what we value, Chief Keef might be the Gill Scott Heroin of the current generation...

At the end of the day, DR didn't have no club bangers..In an era where the church and the club are the two most powerful institutions in Black America, that will be viewed as a negative...
