i do think most of the coli is black, but there are definitely people who troll and/or just want attention or they think arguing is the only form of communication. Like some of these people really just see what the crowd says, then they take up the other side just for whatever reasons. Some people always intentionally go against the grain of other black people because they think it makes them smarter or something. Like somehow there are certain people here that literally always end up on some "blacks aren't a monolith, yall think all nikkas think alike" shyt FOR EVERY TOPIC.

They are black but have gotten old and assimilated. Many were already suburbanites who didn't fit the "stereotype" of what it is to be black. They take pride in that all the while resenting black people who they feel didn't accept them,a lot of deep seeded insecurities. Some of them have found a little money and success, and that alone is enough to make nikkas start talking that bootstraps "If I made it,why can't they:mjpls:" talk. This pretty much sums up thecoli demographics, but I agree most are black.

Not only that, if you feel as though you’re merely a “diversity hire,” why would you want to work at a place like that in the first place? .

the same reason white people who get referred by friends and basically skip the interview still work at a job :unimpressed:
I don't know anything about Maria Taylor to know if she was qualified or not but to act like companies, especially now, aren't trying to "equalize" shyt for black employees is a bit naïve. I fully encourage all black people to take jobs they get regardless of the reason and leverage the recent diversity initiatives major corporations are doing for raises and promotions. These cacs and asians been getting a bag for years off of "cultural fit" so what do black people look like turning down access to new opportunities and bigger bags :mjtf:

Why should they see something wrong with it when folks on here say blacks should do the same fukking thing? Y'all really be lost smh

In his defense we say do the samething as a countermeasure to them doing it.

I’m reading through the last few pages of that Rachel Nichols thread, and I can’t believe what I’m reading. Black men (I’m assuming they’re black) calling themselves “diversity hires” and saying Rachel Nichols has a point. They don’t even realize that by calling themselves that, they’re implying white people should automatically be granted the position and they only got it because they’re black. There are SO MANY unqualified white people who have been given positions they don’t deserve, and y’all trying to cape? Not only that, if you feel as though you’re merely a “diversity hire,” why would you want to work at a place like that in the first place? Have some gotdamn self confidence in yourself. shyt’s embarrassing.
I think the real irony, was Rachel Nicols not realizing that she herself was a "diversity hire" sports used to be all white men. Then Jackie Robinson came and they started letting Black Men into it, eventually feminism got them to start including women on the sidelines on and as anchors. back in the 80s wasn't no females involved in mens sports. People forget Barbra Walters is the first female to lead a talk show/news program. She old af but still alive. meaning that wasn't all too long ago. All this "diversity" stuff, greatly benefited white women. to turn around and scoff at it because of a black women is blatant hyprocrisy. Neither one of them would be there if it was up to white guys. She ought to be thanking black people.

Diversity hire in a sense of demographics, sure. But she was implying that Taylor was a diversity hire like she wasnt qualified and undeserving.

That's not what I took from that. I didn't listen to the clip, only read the text. The way I understood her was that yes she said it was a diversity hire and that ESPN was doing it because they have a poor record for diversity. However, that wasn't to belittle Taylor's qualifications. Nichols' beef was that she didn't want anyone cutting into her own airtime and give Taylor more but not at Nichols' expense. Unless I'm missing something.

You can be deserving of the job and still be a diversity hire.
I’m pretty much the only black person on my team. But in my location, I’m a great “cultural fit”. I won’t ever complain cause on all those interviews I went on, I wasn’t a good fit and they wanted to hire the right person. The bills and this mortgage we’re coming through like :birdman: and unemployment wasn’t cutting it.

So you will never hear me complain about no diversity hire.

Black people's unwillingness to play the game as "dirty" as White/non-blacks is why we will not progress. Most people get jobs due to personal and superficial reasons anyway. White women have also historically benefited the most from affirmative action so who cares if you're a "diversity hire"? Go get your money.
