Even if he could have been Mac Miller. Why settle for that when we can SEE what he's already accomplished with a major. Drake aint pressured do songs he doesnt want, 40 let it out that they have the freedom to make whatever and release it whenever. So if you got your own musical freedom + the financial backing and connects of a major why would it be better for him to be indie?

ownership. THATS WHY. how many times these old head hasbeen rappers gotta tell you this. if they dont know nothing else. they know about getting up front money that you have to pay back at some point. and they know about not getting all of what they SHOULD in their publishing/masters etc. after its all said and done. because they didnt OWN those songs. the label did.

put it this way. for a guy like drake. using a major vs staying independent. is like the difference in being RICH vs being WEALTHY. one of those will only last you a life time and maybe drake jr. but wealth will last generations.
