The thing is, Jazzy wasnt talking about the average artist, he's talking about Drake, who was on a highly watched TV show and lived in one of the richest neighborhoods in Toronto.
You sound stupid and everything you just said is pointless since Drakes background makes him far from being the average mixtape rapper, when it comes to resources.
And none of that shyt worked for Drake until he linked up with Young Money... which is an imprint under Universal/Motown... a *MAJOR*...
Even Macklemore is signed to ADA which is under Warner Bros...

True. He had the potential to do it but he ain't built like that. The industry is not gonna let him do that. They are invested in protecting their market share. That's why you'll see T.I. get a new deal soon, he's just putting out that 50 million as negotiating leverage and he might get it just to keep him from going the indie route

Even if he could have been Mac Miller. Why settle for that when we can SEE what he's already accomplished with a major. Drake aint pressured do songs he doesnt want, 40 let it out that they have the freedom to make whatever and release it whenever. So if you got your own musical freedom + the financial backing and connects of a major why would it be better for him to be indie?

Plus he's making over 20 points on the sales from his albums. The only reason he got that deal is because the majors weren't going to let him be independent
