I don't believe u. Even in the March 1996 issue of the source ( the one with Pac on the cover) reality check it stated that both eiht and Quik should just squash they beef because they both wack on the mic and no one cares about their music.

:russ:

My dude, u can defend the production but capping for Quiks rhymes is reaching when no one was checking for Quiks rhymes like that in the 90's.

Also, just blaze himself said he and Kanye had the 2 best songs on The Black album, just never mentioned Quik.

Kanye was always ok on the mic but lyrically he is way more wittier then Quik who was very mediocre on the mic.

Kanye being ok on the mic yet he has way more quotables then Quik. Kanyes first album alone has more memorable verses then anything Quik has said lyrically.

you wrong, i'm right. quik is the greatest producer rapper of all time. end of story. i won't continue to entertain this bullshyt

good day :russell:

I saw him perform live in Chicago at the Promonotory (Hyde Park) last Saturday. And met him after the show.

DEF a very valid argument for him being one of if not the best producers/beatmakers.

Now if we're talking strictly BEATS....Quik shyts on Dre when it comes to that. Now, as a PRODUCER? Dr. Dre's resume completely blows Quik's out the water. What I mean is, Quik did put people on (Suga Free, AMG, 2nd II None) and mixed Ambitionz As A Ridah, but he's never gotten to that Dre or Kanye level. But really tho, he doesn't need to. That man stayed in his lane for almost 30 years. THAT's amazing af to me, personally. With Quik, he's def one of them "It's not about the money" type nikkaz and he stays true to that. Can't knock that.

From a strictly hip hop in its purest form perspective, Doom deserves mention

But from a musical/lyrical perspective, nobody's fukkin with Quik

Nobody can rap better on a DJ Quik beat than DJ Quik

Edit:

I'm BUGGIN!!

I'd step out there and put Q-Tip over Quik

The source also gave Balance and Options 3 mics.

Your point?

:stopitslime:

That dropped in 2000. Also they gave Rhythm-al-ism (1998) 4 mics...so your point?

My point was pretty clear; the Source praised Safe + Sound (an album which also went Gold and reached number 1 on Billboard) but you say they called him he's trash and that nobody cared for his music less than a year later.

Anyway, if you're not posting a scan this discussion is over.

The RZA. Quik was a good mc great producer. But rza was dropping verses in 96-98 that were some of the dopest all tike. Rza is a good mc and great producer too but theres was times rza was hitting GREAT mc levels.

Theres a reasonpeople were waiting for the cure.

Lead gravedigga. Killed wu forever. Freestyles most of bobby digi. Id say quik better than rza now tho but na.. Rza still the goat mc producer and i guess i need to give kanye props too cause his albiks are all enjoyable even if he didnt write produce em as much as rza and quik did theirs.
