DJ Quik Or Too Short?

The best thing non DJ Quik fans can say about him is that he has a "clean" sound...But hip hop in general ain't feeling DJ Quik like that...If it wasn't for his affiliation with Death Row, I don't think his sound would have ever left the LA area...

The nicca top the charts when he 1st came out..His success has nothing to do with his affiliation with Death Row.

(1) My opinion is based on the fact that I heard of Too Short when I was South Africa, and I ain't know who DJ Quik was until 2Pac said "Quik gave me a beat" on Hearts Of Men...

(2) I have tried to listen to Dj Quik based on the hype, but I could never get into his music...What makes it even worse is when he says stuff like "I used a real 808 machine, not samples" and when the beat drops, it's sounds like a 2 year learning how to press the keys...

(3) Too Short on the other hand, I have always liked...He has a voice and delivery that I can fcuk with...He raps like he is directly talking to the listeners...You can hear when the bars start and end...But Dj Quik rapping sounds like it is one long flow with a bar that never ends...I have never been a fan of that style...

Quik for me but you can go either way. The man produces and knows how to play instruments and has the overall better albums IMO that age like fine wine.
