You can buy the parts to build a whole system including a 5090 from Microcenter for $5700 (depending on parts) today. You'd just have to build it yourself.

and, tbh, you don't even need the 5090. The 5080 is just as good even for LLM/VM, and 4k (or 5k2k) if you run it with DLSS on, too.

Haven't built a PC since the early 00s.

I see the points for the artistic vision being lost trying to chase photo realism.

All games def don't need it and I can see these goofy suits at these development companies who don't know shyt about making games pushing this.

It's a quick fix to a decade+ problem. As much as people didn't feel Death Stranding they need to go look at Hideo and his team's work again....and I mean look with an artist's eye. It is what it is I'll stick to DLSS4+PT or Native with RTX off because that shyt is cap sometimes too.

Edit: I'll say this though, maybe DLSS5 will be useful for those indie horror games like 616 but they'll have to start from scratch

My issue with DLSS5 is that it seems to be an interpretation of a geometry rather than actually optimizing the geometry rendering.

I'm not a video game expert but I have some knowledge in architectural rendering and in the last couple of years, AI renders have popped up in a lot of softwares like the ones below







You can see that the AI renders interpret the geometry but do not actually create any. It's fine for pictures but if you were to have different points of view, the consistency wouldn't be there if you'd look in detail.

So I'm not against this per se, I'll just need to see how consistent this could be in actual gameplay. Also I'll need to see how DLSS5 render ugly characters
