People are crazy talking about DMX would wash Jay Z. Yes, DMX has a lot of bangers, but when we're talking 20 songs, this would be an uphill battle for X.

1998 was not a bad year for Jay. That was the turning point. That is when Jay Z's hot streak started and he had a string of consecutive hits that started that summer with "Money Ain't A Thang".

nikka fukk this. all i want to see is the footage in its entirety of the battle between x and jay in a pool hall in the bronx in 94' supposedly taped by Big L
that shyt gonna be trash

outdated album verses that never made the final product that come off as indirect battle verses in disguise smh

Jay-Z obviously has more hit songs... But even Hov's BEST songs isn't touching the vast majority of DMX's bangers. People kinda forgot DMX's run from '97-03.... DMX had some monster bangers during that run. a 20 vs 20, I would pick DMX any day. Why would anyone pick Hard Knock Life over What's My Name is beyond me, for example.

I don't think X's run is forgotten. And this isn't just about hits. When you put into perspective X's six year run, it is still shorter than Jay's. Jay Z has a lot of big records that weren't necessarily runaway hit singles.
