Are we sure all these guest appearences were recorded before his death? This just feels like one of those posthumous releases that uses a bunch of high profile guest spots to fill up verses?

But I doubt it cause X only died a month ago so i doubt they could pull together all of this that quickly. But it just seems weird to me. Two Nas guest spots? :patrice:

I’m sure he mentioned all of these in his drink champs interview

Either way, there's too many guest appearences. I'm sorry I know ya'll are hyped and individually most of the guests are good but it get's to a point where it becomes a compilation album.

This album should be about X not the all star guest line up.

fully agree it could mean it isn’t great as I’m never a fan of albums with loads of guest appearances. But with this, it’s pretty much what DMX intended based on his Kweli and Drink Champs interviews so can’t hate really

Californ-i-a by way of BK
Pop Smoke track probably gonna be on the deluxe
Apparently "Money, Money, Money" was the Pop Smoke song but they had to take him off because of clearance issues and they replaced him with Moneybaggyo. Someone screen shotted this on Twitter

Track list seems suspect...
1.wtf is a money bag yo?
2.that bath salt song is like 5yrs old at this point and they took off Jadakiss.....
3.no drag on.. if they gonna add nikkas to songs he's the only one that should be added
4. They said they were going to put his daughter that raps on a song... but Instead I see a song featuring his 4yr old son? Is he rapping or saying goo goo ga ga on the beat?
5. I could do without lil Wayne and snoop. When X was mentioning the album on various platforms he never mentioned them being on the album (at least I don't remember) so I'm kind of disappointed. I don't wanna hear Wayne doing no weirdo auto tune shyt.

but its nice to see inf, cross and ice pick reminds me of some real old school RR shyt.

They couldve did a rehashed version of this is for my dog or something and threw all the nikkas that really meant something to X on there. But it seems like they're going with big names over the real

Looking forward to X's final album but I don't trust Swizz to make anymore than 5 good songs out of 10. I hope I'm wrong

Swizz is a wild boy. He really thinks he was THAT nikka... without RR athem X doesn't get as big as he was and neither does RR the label.. and he rode the wave and made his own career thats great. I know he feels a special connection and X is his brother and he was in the streets robbing nikkas with X But he has to know in his heart of hearts that Dame Grease and P.Killer layed that foundation. Swizz and X is good for a song here and there. But overall swizz can't really produce that sound that we know x for and wanna hear

We're getting 'Bath Salts' :wow::banderas::obama::feedme:

The price of losing X to hear the final version it is way too steep though :mjcry:

Nas is Nas. Kiss is Kiss:yeshrug:

Thats all I can think of unless Kiss for some reason couldn’t get two verses cleared

Thats when it becomes fake to me. I know X and Nas had a relationship but X knew kiss since he was a kid.. I don't like that they are going with the name over the relationship.. kiss could be on 5 songs and I'd be here for all of them because they have deep history

Can’t call it breh. I’m not even going to attempt to rebuke what you are saying because at the end of the day it could definitely be about the name and since X isn’t here to tell us we’ll never truly know.

All i’ll say is that X was a heavy Nas fan and at one point said Nas was his favorite rapper. Plus like you said they had an established relationship based upon mutual respect. So maybe this is what X would have wanted. I’m trying to go in with an optimistic mind set seeing as Swizz is overseeing this and Swizz has been pretty transparent in trying to do everything possible to honor X and his legacy.

That plus X himself mentioned on numerous occasions that the album was nearly complete AND that he’d worked with about 90% of the artists that are included on the final tracklisting (including Bono) so i’m trusting that Swizz and X’s fam are honoring what his vision was for this project.

I hear you.. I don't recall X sayin Nas was his favorite though (always been scarface whenever he got a chance to name nikkas in interviews) maybe he Nas was one of or someone he has respect for lol.

And yeah I remember him being excited about the Bono song on drink champs. And I remember him mentioning pop smoke, griselda, lox, Alicia keys...

but I don't remember him mentioning snoop, Wayne, Nas, moneybag yo. I could be wrong but I can't recall

Also swizz overseeing could be good and bad. Sure they were pretty much brothers but im sure when working together they didn't always agree and would check eachother on what they thought should be done and direction they want to go in. Without X here to say nah we not doing that... I can easily see swizz going left. Not out of disrespect but just because thats what he does.

Also I don't wanna get too deep but having his 4yr old son on a song seems sus instead of his daughter that actually was a rapper already before he died

The album is named after his Son so it has thematic resonance.

And nobody to date from X’s fam has called foul on any move Swizz has made so i’m sure there are reasons why one family member would be on the album and one wouldn’t.

And X mentioned Nas being on the album during his interview with Talib Kweli.

I just feel like if EVER there were a time to just “trust Swizz Beatz” now is it. Swizz would never do anything to dishonor DMX’s legacy and I think there should a benefit of the doubt for people who stayed solid with respect for their homies over a 20 year time period.

Plus like i said before. X said that the album was mostly complete. So I think we should be looking at this as more “Life After Death” than “Born Again”

X already mentioned that Nas was on the album so track 9 is the one he probably intended to be on the album. X passed away and Swizz probably stepped to Jay and Nas and said hey I got this track with y'all 3 and the 3 of you have never been heard together before let's clear it and let the world hear it. You can't be mad about Kiss being off of it but Nas staying on it because the song is technically Nas song lol he recorded it for Life is Good.
