Can’t call it breh. I’m not even going to attempt to rebuke what you are saying because at the end of the day it could definitely be about the name and since X isn’t here to tell us we’ll never truly know.
All i’ll say is that X was a heavy Nas fan and at one point said Nas was his favorite rapper. Plus like you said they had an established relationship based upon mutual respect. So maybe this is what X would have wanted. I’m trying to go in with an optimistic mind set seeing as Swizz is overseeing this and Swizz has been pretty transparent in trying to do everything possible to honor X and his legacy.
That plus X himself mentioned on numerous occasions that the album was nearly complete AND that he’d worked with about 90% of the artists that are included on the final tracklisting (including Bono) so i’m trusting that Swizz and X’s fam are honoring what his vision was for this project.
I hear you.. I don't recall X sayin Nas was his favorite though (always been scarface whenever he got a chance to name nikkas in interviews) maybe he Nas was one of or someone he has respect for lol.
And yeah I remember him being excited about the Bono song on drink champs. And I remember him mentioning pop smoke, griselda, lox, Alicia keys...
but I don't remember him mentioning snoop, Wayne, Nas, moneybag yo. I could be wrong but I can't recall
Also swizz overseeing could be good and bad. Sure they were pretty much brothers but im sure when working together they didn't always agree and would check eachother on what they thought should be done and direction they want to go in. Without X here to say nah we not doing that... I can easily see swizz going left. Not out of disrespect but just because thats what he does.
Also I don't wanna get too deep but having his 4yr old son on a song seems sus instead of his daughter that actually was a rapper already before he died
