This album isn't good.

As much as I love X, this album doesn't do his legacy any justice. Swizz is my guy, but he shouldn't have been the person at the helm of this one. He threw a Jay acapella on here that's easily 10-11 years old. The mixing on here is wild subpar. They rushed the process and had people give them old and unused acapellas that were spliced together and thrown on beats that aren't that great either. Which is why so many people sound off-beat. This isn't the level of quality that X deserved, and Swizz should've chilled on throwing this out so quickly.

I think this was definitely a cash grab. This is basically a Khaled album, in the name of DMX. Forced attempt at memorializing him. He should've gotten a much better send-off than this.
Wouldn’t say this a cash grab cuz X said these people will be on the album when he was alive

swizz is garbage point blank. This album isn’t good at all

I fukks with a few cuts

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
X verse was definitely better than nas on that song imo. Nas did his thing but his verse doesn't even play to the beat. He just did his regular rappity rap thing Which I like but X presence and delivery was enough to give it to him. Jay and Nas sounded docile... X sounded like he came ready for war and had bars with his agression
Bruh. The song is originally a Nas song.
Before X was even on it. What are u talking about? Lol. Ur literally the ONLY person I seen criticize Nas’ verse u Coli nikkas be buggin. Lol.

Y'all gotta start keeping your expectations in check. Don't even front like you guys were checking for X last 2 or 3 albums before this. God bless the dead but he had been past his prime before his death and that's not Swizz or anybody's fault. This was about as good as it was going to get and the bulk was created while X was alive so it is what it is.

Swizz's production is hit and miss with me nowadays, his older stuff was more heavier. This can't be the best he can do, that's why i prefer artists to create with other producers. Wonder why Dame Grease wasn't involved in this project.

What does it being a nas song have to do with me thinking X has a better verse? Me liking X verse has nothing to do with "coli nikkas" real hip hop fans hear features and discuss who they think had the better verse all the time. Real rap nikkas know when featured on a song their verses will be compared. Granted none of these dudes knew they were doing a song together people will still compare them.

I like X verse the best you like Nas verse the best.. I don't see the problem.

I never said Nas had a bad verse i said I liked it. I just said X fit the beat better... Nas song or not X on a swizz beat (an actual good one) hits different :yeshrug:

Most of these beats were done by other producers, who ended up getting "co-producer" credit on the album. Swizz is credited as producer, probably for putting the artists together for the tracks. But a nice amount of these songs were for other people, and handed over to X for this album.

I would've definitely brought in PK and Grease for the album. X always said he was one of his favorite producers of all-time. Seems weird to not have him on here. Most of X's best work, was on Grease production.

It's nice to hear his voice and some new tracks. Bono track is surprisingly good. I enjoy the interludes and skits. Not every track is a hit. We just gotta bring down our expectations. Our legends get older and it would be silly for them to be sounding and rapping like they were young again. They're just not that angry and hungry anymore and neither am I. I'm not trying to hear all that. I like the track him talking to his son. It's something I can relate to better. It was honest and real.

Edit: Nevermind, he was originally credited. I see they changed it

The production on some of these songs feel stripped down and not fully produced. Seems like nobody mastered them.

I tried but I'm sorry this album isn't worth listening to. Swizz needs his ass beat for put something out like this and attaching DMX name to it.
:mjlol: What was the last Dmx album you heard, this shyt wayyyy better than redemption of the beast as a matter a fact , anything past grand champ , it’s a nice exit album for a legend
