How is the song with SNOOP not the lead single? Like someone else said, that was a layup. They need to push that song to radio ASAP.

I'm enjoy the album. I grew up on DMX. His music was the soundtrack to my youth. But we gotta let his old music stay in that era. Like someone else said, that period of time doesn't exist anymore. And the artists have grown. That hunger and pain isn't there anymore because they evolved and attained success.

And trust me I think music is mostly garbage now. The Golden years of rap were the 90's and early 2000's. So lets just enjoy the music X left us.

I’m fine with letting past music be past music, but that doesn’t mean bad albums should be propped up just cause it’s a present day album. This album is awful and Swizz is the biggest reason for it. Besides 3 tracks, this album sounds like one of those posthumous albums that comes out 5 years after an artist passes, when the label has already bled their legacy dry. This is a 2002 Death Row album.

Alright so I've given this a spin a few times and I'll say

The album is averaged at best. Idk how difficult it was to record with X, but the limitations of Swizz beatz are on full display. The choice of beats and how they mixed Xs voice on some of these songs was just criminal. A true master of his craft(Rza, Dr.Dre, Timbalabd, Pharrell, Kanye etc.) Would have found ways to work around this. Some of these tracks X sounds like a totally new rapper who will never get anywhere.

RIP X, I wish Swizz Beats was more talented to be able to give you the send off that you deserve.

Hopefully they release a Deluxe. But the album is already stacked.
I also found it interesting when he said DMX wanted to use this album to put a lot of unknown rappers on, and Swizz wanted it to be a big budget affair. Kinda telling about the direction to be honest. I have no question this is the album X recorded and was fully present for, but it makes me wonder if this is the album X in his heart wanted to create.

Probably because Def Jam wanted Swizz to go all out with the features. X might've wanted to change it up a bit, it's hard to say now that he's not here.

Don’t know why ANYONE is bytching about there being too many features when X out of his own mouth said thats what he WANTED.

I fukks with the features. Even my least favorite songs I don’t feel anyone phoned a feature in.

Hood Blues is excellent. Bath Salts is great. Walking In The Rain might be the BEST collab from X and Nas. Letter to my son is vintage X.

I have no idea why people hate Swizz Beatz so much when all he’s done is spread positive vibes his entire career.

I read somewhere that Swizz gave the idea to X about make a surprise to the fans and create something different from his previous albums, an album with a lot of features. and not like the way he did pretty much the whole carrer.

Craig said the next one will be with less features so let's see. Around last year (?), his friend Jungle posted a lot of footage saying that X was recording the new album. And Craig even said this one was full recorded in nashville, weird. Because swizz said it was on snoop studio (and have footages of it so kinda confused statment lol). probably the second one, will be the one he created there. and years ago, divine bars even said X would put a gospel album out, but never happened. and tbh, from there, it was just promises. :comeon:

but yea, i think X have recorded enough material over the past years to be released in the future.

Song with Snoop is the best song on the album, but I really wish Snoop would fukking stop making music. His verse should just be removed from the song. What a washed up, corny fukking rapper. Went from one of the most highly revered rappers to nothing but a man with 95% skippable verses.

X deserved better.

And Jay-Z does NOT deserve to be here with his fukking snake ass. fukk Jay-Z
