I'm sure your understand is quite deep. Those intro level psychology classes have you ready to be a professional Psychologist :stopitslime:

Is Iyala your mother or something? You don't know me or what my educational background is. She fumbled her role in this "intervention", plain and simple. If an addict is crying and telling you his issues with relationships stem from abandonment, why would you suggest someone use abandonment as a carrot to get someone to kick a habit? Does it take a world renowned psychologist to see that was counter productive? All that extreme "I bow to you" act she did after Xavier drew a line in the sand on his relationship with his pops was embarrassing. Xavier isn't a kid anymore. Xavier wanted an apology and closure and X gave it to him. All X wanted in return was a damn phone call! A chance to say wassup to his son without his son being on some "we need some money" tip. Your Pops has to be clean for you to call and see wassup with him? Like I said earlier, if the roles were reversed and X told Xavier he couldn't rock with him unless he was straight, I guarantee Iyala wouldn't be bowing to X in approval. She made up her mind to exploit X issues from the get go. X talking about his issues with relationships (women, family, etc) and this broad walks him to a wall with his mugshots?!?!? Then when X told her to bounce she played her ace card and asked X can he at least talk to his son and he agreed.....only to have her step all over that. The whole "I guess I'll be quiet on MY show" line told you everything you needed to know about her intentions. If they were sincere she would've sat back and let the cameras capture the heart to heart. But she couldn't and took away from a moment that could've been a huge turning point in X and his son life. But she got her ratings and her badge of honor of standing up to the big bad unpredictable DMX. Shes a fraud and if YOU think it takes a PhD to see that, then that speaks volumes about you, not me.

Iyanla got issues her self. Her backstory is just as fukked up as X. She also got banished from Oprahs good graces for being a fukkup and had to kiss her ass for 2 hours on live television.

She made the situation worse. He came there under false pretenses. He thought he was gonna come on talk about his "woman addiction" make a quick check and bounce. They blindsided him with all of this other shyt and he was rightfully upset. He didn't come there for an intervention. Futhermore, The nikka x said it was some bullshyt that his gay ass son was putting ultimatums on their relationship and she had to butt in with her hoodrat 2 cents. He said it himself, why u aint call me? Instead he is singing some fakkit emo folk song (trying to get a record deal, trust) and is attention whoring on tv. X is a fukked up individual, career crackhead but if she was really about reconciliation and not ratings she would try to be more diplomatic towards a volatile drug abuser instead of goading him into showing his natural black ass

My Pops Forever RIP
They are doing it to themselves. That shyt ain't a disease fam. Nobody becomes a dopefiend without purposely doing drugs. If he wanted to stop then he could put himself into rehab. It's that simple. I've seen ppl give it up cold turkey before.

Addiction IS a disease. He can stop, but that shyt is difficult to overcome. That's why even clean ex-junkies will tell you they take shyt a day at a time because they could always relapse.

Giving shyt up cold turkey (anything really, let alone addiction) is tough and painful.

Sometimes, the reason why addicts stay addicted is to avoid the torture that is withdrawal.

I cannot believe folks are objecting to the way Iyanla comported herself. Let us pretend that any other therapist or shrink or psychologist would have allowed DMX to explode in their office multiple times before dismissing him. Had DMX raised his voice even one half time to Dr Phil (or even limp dikk Dr Drew), security would have subdued our Dark Man. But keep critiquing Iyanla for mumbling "beloved" while DMX bullied his son during the therapy session on camera.

:stopitslime: she drove a bigger wedge in their relationship, not letting them speak to each other. On the real we don't know X, but you can genuinely see he loves his son and he got hit with conditional love from his son.
