Isn't most his work done administratively behind the scenes outside of news interviews (which from what I've seen he exceeds at)?
Not sure why this is even an issue here. It's about setting the agenda of the party and not a face fronting role ...from my understanding.
He's not going to be the face. Rahm Emmanuel isn't who the Dems voted for in 06 and 08.
It's not totally a behind the scenes job. DWS was everywhere in the media the last 2 years. Ellison will be in the same spotlight. I like him b/c he has a spine. All I'm saying is get ready for the rethugs to use muslim scare tactics against him. Gullible midwest cacs will eat it up.
At very least acknowledge it's a risky move.

Look, what we shouldn't be doing is compromising with racism and looking for ways to not offend racist sensibilities. That is NOT the same thing as acknowledging the white working class and offering real economic solutions.

Like I said before, of course we should fight racism. But that should not be an excuse to ignore everything else and if it becomes that we have other problems. Giving someone a pass on status quo neo liberal politics because they're black? No, they're part of the problem. Since when is being black upper class a reason not to care about the rest of society anymore? At that point are not just like what you complain Trump is?
