Negged for purposely using the term incorrectly. :umad:

Acting like you aren't a part of the problem. You government shill.

what are you arguing here, fool? you're completely missing the forest for the trees

no one cares about the literal definition of neo-liberalism...the term's definition is exactly how @Saka defines it. you're just deflecting away from the real issues because you don't like the fact that your neo-libbing ass is getting shytted on

if you're a neo-liberal, fine, accept it and STFU. if not, join the movement www.justicedemocrats.com and stand up for real progressive causes. stop being a fence straddling fool

It's not fence straddling at all. I vote strictly based on what I see as valuable and what best affects me and my interests. I highly favor proximity in politics and social work. I have no desire to be a "justice democrat" because it doesn't serve all of my interests. I've said it numerous times here that I find value in many conservative points, but being a black man living in the south Voting republican at all is a non starter. :youmadcam:

so you like wall street and our defense contractors and oil companies basically dictating policy? I'm curious what makes you a liberal, other than allowing a woman to abort fetuses

I like lower taxes.
On a general level I agree with getting rid over government waste and excess, but I acknowledge when they say this they're generally speaking about programs that harm blacks.:mjpls:

Same with school choice.
I'm a gun owner and guns rights advocate etc.

But none of that is more valuable than the systematic oppression they like to place on non-whites to prop up white male supremacy ideals and social order. :ufdup:

If you were capable of having normal discourse this could be an interesting thread. But you like to throw out strawmen arguments instead of having dialogue without ever really putting out what your actual position is.

Things I haven't said:

I want Wall Street dictating policy
I haven't mentioned oil one time
I haven't mentioned defense contractors

Things I have said:

I think women deserve the right to choose what they do with their bodies.

The irony:

You come across more conservative than I do. :DameMJLol:

arguments can become circular when you don't agree on definition of what you're arguing!

neo-liberal is definitely a phrase that can mean different things to different people depending on your own political preferences and even the institutions etc that you're discussing. neoliberalism has gone from a term that was originally based in purely economic theory to one that you'll find in socio-political discussions. You'll run into the term even if you're reading up on educational policy. Essentially it's system that prefers the dominance of private sector/free market policies over the role/power of government in the management of the economy.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but the "Washington Consensus" is one way to distill many of these policy preferences.

What Washington Means by Policy Reform

  1. Fiscal policy discipline, with avoidance of large fiscal deficits relative to GDP;
  2. Redirection of public spending from subsidies ("especially indiscriminate subsidies") toward broad-based provision of key pro-growth, pro-poor services like primary education, primary health care and infrastructure investment;
  3. Tax reform, broadening the tax base and adopting moderate marginal tax rates;
  4. Interest rates that are market determined and positive (but moderate) in real terms;
  5. Competitive exchange rates;
  6. Trade liberalization: liberalization of imports, with particular emphasis on elimination of quantitative restrictions (licensing, etc.); any trade protection to be provided by low and relatively uniform tariffs;
  7. Liberalization of inward foreign direct investment;
  8. Privatization of state enterprises;
  9. Deregulation: abolition of regulations that impede market entry or restrict competition, except for those justified on safety, environmental and consumer protection grounds, and prudential oversight of financial institutions;
  10. Legal security for property rights.

No, I just won't vote for President. Plus, it's not like the Electoral College doesn't exist. :hhh:
So you're going to keep trying the same strategy that has never worked. Cool. :salute:

You show the establishment what's up, by fukking up your own life. :heh:

So how does the electoral college justify not voting? I live in a swing state. I'm more than aware of how the EC works. Similarly being in a swing state there is a lot of political engagement. Sounds like you've let the white man break you into submission. Not voting will never get you what you want because there will always be others voting.

One of Trump's major strategies to win was to convince left leaning voters not to vote because it didn't matter. Specifically black voters. You think you won, but really you didn't. :BlackTrumpThought:
