I'm sold off this alone.

Btw - here is the book he's talking about in the clip: Brown Is the New White | The New Press

It was released in January of last year. The very first line of the description is, "Despite the abundant evidence from Obama’s victories proving that the U.S. population has fundamentally changed, many progressives and Democrats continue to waste millions of dollars chasing white swing voters."

Breh, I've already made peace with this and already distanced myself from the Democratic party a long time ago. True progressives need to move on because this party is Republican-lite.

Just look how much this party kept f_cking over Bernie Sanders after presidential election loss and they didn't learn their lesson putting Pelosi back in there and they are going to repeat the same mistakes with Tom Perez.

Ellison, breh, it's been real. :mjcry:

Democrats are a loser party. They deserve whatever they get in 2018 and 2020.
And thats why President Trump will be re-elected. U people are childish

You're not doing any good by telling people to shut up about their complaints. You have to critique something to improve it. Every bit of progress is made through debate. I voted for HRC but if you are afraid of debate a full two years away from the next midterms and 4btears away from 2020, what exactly are you standing for? How do you plan to party build? How do you plan to establish a coalition? Trump won because people stayed home, and you're not interested in how to get them back?

U can complain all u want, as long as u vote right on election day. If u choose not to vote or make useless, petty protest votes for 3rd part candidates, then you're an idiot.

Biden endorses Perez in DNC chair race
By DANIEL STRAUSS

Former Vice President Joe Biden endorsed former Labor Secretary Tom Perez in the race for Democratic National Committee chair on Wednesday.

"I’ve known Tom Perez for a long time. He’s a man of integrity and vision," Biden said in a statement. "And he knows what it means to be a Democrat—that we are a party that fights for economic fairness for working families and believes that everyone is entitled to be treated with dignity, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or who they love."

The endorsement — Biden's first political act since leaving office — is the most public sign yet that Perez has the backing of the highest ranking members of the Obama administration. Perez discussed running for DNC chair with top administration officials before he got into the race.

Capturing Biden's backing deals a blow to the rest of the field, especially to Rep. Keith Ellison, Perez's most high profile competitor. The Minnesota congressman worked early on in the race to round up top Democratic and progressive supporters, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Biden, in his statement, praised Perez's tenure as a civil rights lawyer and Labor Secretary.

"And with Tom, it’s personal, as it’s always been for me. He’s never forgotten where he comes from and he’s anchored by a fundamental optimism in our country and the belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things if given just a fair chance," Biden said. "I’ve seen it the last eight years as he served as the nation’s top civil rights lawyer and as our Secretary of Labor. He’s stood up for workers, immigrants, and Americans living with disabilities. He’s fought for fair housing and protected the sacred right to vote. We’ve partnered together to help folks get the skills they need for good-paying, middle-class jobs. Most of all—Tom knows how to talk to people, not down to them. He knows how to explain why our party’s core beliefs matter to the immigrant family in Arizona and the coal miner in West Virginia. That matters."

The endorsement comes less than a month before the 447 voting members of the DNC meet in Atlanta to pick a new chair. Besides Perez and Ellison, South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman Jaime Harrison, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley, Idaho Democratic Party Executive Director Sally Boynton Brown, and Democratic strategist Jehmu Greene are running to succeed interim DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile.

"We have a lot of good people vying for this important job. But I do think for this moment and in this time, Tom Perez is our best bet to help bring the party back. I’ve watched him work. I think I know his heart. That’s why I endorse him as the next Chairman of the DNC," Biden said.

No surprise Biden endorses Perez

Keith is probably going to lose.

Keith will lose, but not because of endorsements.

It's because a large majority of the Dem conference is in line with Perez's views over Ellison's.

Yeah thats true and they don't want to say it but they dont want an African American Muslim leading the party.

The issue is... Perez I don't believe is going to structurally change anything.. the state parties are dead. Obama is lurking in the background waiting to ressurrect his Organizing for America grassroots arm which he never should have scaled down to begin with. But the problem with that is it loses sight of the important issues the base of the party wants... and we had him for 8 years and all you get is more neoliberal BS.... the TPP being the latest example

The bright side is, Keith being in the Congress is good and he does have a lot of freedom to champion his causes and other allies of the progressive movement when he has the chance.
