Even if Perez is better than what his most ardent detractors are saying, it looks absolutely terrible that he was literally drafted by the party establishment to run and block Ellison's path. The optics make it look super suspect. And it is. It's just like donors don't donate expecting nothing in return. The establishment pushed Perez for a reason.

Meh, maybe I'm jaded by current events, but I mean, Donald Trump is president.

And that's largely because he's popular with working class white people, who feel that they relate to him despite him (mainly because of populism and him bashing minorities) always having been rich as fukk. And consider that this is a group that by and large dislikes Obama despite him having much more in common with them in terms of class.

So I'm honestly pretty skeptical that people will ever actually put class over racial/ethnic divisions. It's way too easy to just blame economic problems on minorities or immigrants. :manny:

I feel ya. The possibility of this society not being able to overcome cac supremacy is why I also advocate for the creation of the Republic of New Afrika. Either the society needs to move in a revolutionary direction overall or we need to separate from these devils. :ehh:

How? And his support of TPP doesn't erase the fact that he's a strong labor advocate and has strong ties to labor unions. And why would that matter, anyway? DNC chair is in the background - they don't push policy, they work to get candidates elected. We wouldn't even be talking about this if DWS wasn't so legendarily horrible. Or if Bernie didn't give an endorsement. I really don't understand why this is such a controversy.
Messed with debate nights. during the primary. I don't think someone from Buffalo, NY, seeing what free trade has done to that city, should be supporting more of that.

I can't find anything about this? Can you help me out? And taking only a cursory look, it seems that Buffalo was one of the cities where free trade actually helped.

And I'm still wondering why that really matters in an administrative position. You can argue the optics of it, I guess. Does the average person pay attention to who's the chair? Or the candidate? Looking at his Vision, he seems to understand what went wrong, and what's needed to fix those problems. Most of you still seem caught up in the primary and running that over and over again through various proxies. And it's exhausting.

This should be directed to the establishment because the party already told us we have no influence as voters.

It's directed to anyone who places their own feelings over the consequences of continued GOP political dominance. The thing is that for many of us who follow politics at such a granular level, we are far more insulated from the damage that Trump and Co. have done and will continue to do. A lot of people in the Democratic Party have the luxury of being able to huff and puff then vote for a dumb bytch like Stein or Nader.

Such a weird savior complex that is involved with some justifications for LEV.

What I want is for space to be created for those who are negatively impacted by policies to organize and fight back. None of these establishment candidates support rescinding policies and laws that would create that type of space.

This guy came out and said the primary were rigged himself, and then rescinded it because he was so afraid of the establishment and clinton fans. He has no backbone. And Buffalo has been dying for a long time and only recently has started to make a comeback, mostly due to homegrown movements.

Trump has done horrible things... that the republicans have wanted to do for years. The problem is the guy is an orange soda can that's rude. Seems so many in the business community like the platform but not the person. Which is a problem within itself. It's true we are more insulated, but we are also more aware of the damage a system that works against the people can cause.
