Yeah, the fact that no one said answer the question was disturbing.
That tells you exactly who they're aiming for. It also tells you that they learned nothing from 2016. 50 year policy going on 100.

By Promising black people reparations that aren't going to happen? But they need the black vote to actually win. it seems you and them haven't figured that out yet.![]()

People complain about pandering, but truthfully promising reparations is just pandering. Are Democrats too chicken shyt to even mention the word reparations, much less have a clear and explicit policy about it?
The MLK leg of civil rights was an almost 20 year movement before politicians supported it publicly. Why would anyone believe that reparations would be any different? If all these candidates say they'd walked with King, support King, know the history of Aframs in America, and support HR 40, then why can't they speak about reparations specifically and publicly? Like they do climate change, immigration, and corruption?

There are plenty realistic and achievable targets that should be getting more coverage than pieing in the sky over reparations.

The unemployment rate for black workers fell to 5.5% from 6%, according to the Labor Department data. The previous record low of 5.9% was set in May 2018.
The unemployment rate for black women fell to a record 4.4% from 5.2% in July. The unemployment rate for black men crept up to 5.9% from 5.8%. But the previous month's rate was a record, so the rate is still near its historic low.
Unemployment among workers who identify themselves as Hispanic or Latino also fell in August to 4.2%, which matched a record low set earlier this year.
Minority unemployment has been tracked by the Labor Department since the early 1970's. Both black and Hispanic or Latino unemployment numbers have traditionally been higher than white unemployment, and it remains so today. White unemployment was 3.4% in August, up from 3.3% previously. But this is the smallest gap on record between the respective unemployment rates for blacks and whites.
Overall the US unemployment rate stood at 3.7%, unchanged from the previous month.
DNC asked the question. Joe Biden juelzed out of it.And reparations is still just 1 example of DNC's benign neglect policy. As Joe Biden so eloquently displayed last night.

These talking points are tired. Reparations isn't a litmus test for black policy.![]()

its naive to think that politicians are going to embrace a policy just because it’s the right thing to do.
Some policies take years to build grassroots support to the point where pols have no choice but to support it. Universal Healthcare has been on the table for almost 80 damn years and this is as popular as it has ever been....and it still may never pass despite being the right thing to do.
And I’m not arguing for incremental change, I’m just saying transformational legislation especially ones requiring spending, takes a lot of time, energy, resources and constant engagement. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fight for other things in the meantime.
But that’s not as sexy as some YouTube personality saying cut the check or else.
These pols are going to hit you with... or else what?
Especially in a tent as diverse and disparate as the Democratic Party where they have to balancer he groups interests.

Which has been DNC black policy for 50 years.
