Do any homeowners here have a pool?

I was gonna get a above ground pool off amazon to test the waters, no pun, before I even consider going in ground.

before you go all Kat Williams on the pool store guy, what are you using to sanitize the water?

if the pool already has green/yellow algae you need to shock the water with hypochlorite based shock and use an algaecide like yellowtrine. get the chlorine to at least 5 parts per million and run the pump 24 hours straight. make sure the pump is not sucking air (keep the water level high)

boom, clear pool.
I'm using liquid chlorine from Wal Mart done poured six gallons in that bytch. I've been running my pump non stop for 3 days. I might need have to get me some algaecide I have a sand filter not sure if that matters. :lupe:

ok. backwash the shyt out of the sand filter, the pressure is probably waaaay too high for the water to have good circulation..

you may have to do that a few times for 20-30 seconds. you're going to lose some water but that filter is probably overloaded.

all chlorine does is control the algae from getting worse. it doesn't kill it, that's why you need the algaecide.

other factors are the ph and alkalinity, make sure ph is near 7.4-7.6. if it's too high, lower it with acid. if it's too low, raise it with soda ash (which is similar to baking soda)

what is your test strip or liquid tester telling you?

Been thinking about it but that shyt would lower the property value potentially since nobody in my neighborhood has one and yearly costs wouldn't be worth it since it's just me. It would honestly be used by my nephew and maybe my boys when they come through. Plus the pool i liked was damn near 35k and i don't like the above ground pools.

the ph is 7.4, not alkalinity, but anyway, all of that is fine.

the problem is most likely the circulation. what does the filter pressure gauge say?

here's how to vacuum out all the dead algae once you get it killed with the algaecide.

in waste mode you can vac it straight out the pool without clogging up the filter even more.

you can. just backwash the filter, add the algaecide and brush the algae off of the walls and the pool floor (if it's not coming off, then get a metal wire brush, looks like this.) it will clear up fast if you get that filter working properly. gl :smoker:

Stop being cheap and higher a pool cleaner. My guy only charges me $150/month and he stops by once a week to clean. Has my pool looking clear and clean.

The World, but from BK
For some reason this shyt reminded me of when I was in Cartagena. Stayed in a nice hotel on the beach with a pool. Nice looking pool but I dunno what they put in that water. That water was thick as fuk. That shyt was like swimming in gravy. Just standing in the water felt like I was being bear hugged.
